BUT then again you might not want the drama that comes afterwards, after all it's your FH mother.

For this reason alone, I would have sent a short thank you - 'thanks for sharing in our engagement celebration'. I'm not condoning your FMIL's behavior, and it sounds like you have every right to be upset with her, but why add fuel to her fire?

I do agree. Unfortunately she will be family after you and your FH get married.

haha!! I would write her a sarcastic card, just to make me feel better. Like 'Thank you for gracing me and my guests with your presence... Your disdainful attitude really added to the life of the party...etc.'

Okay, so I wouldn't really write it.. but thinking about it would make me feel better.

So sorry to hear of your continued saga with your FMIL - she does sound like an @ss!

Anyway, there were people at my e-party who didn't give a gift, but I still sent them a card and a STD saying, 'It was nice celebrating out happy engagement with you.'

It's probably past the point now where you can send her something, but for future, and knowing her personality, that's what I would to to try and keep the peace until after the wedding. JMO!

IMO you should ALWAYS send a thank you card, regardless of how they were at your party. They celebrated your day with you. Thanking her for her presence is the right thing to do.

I agree with another poster you definitely should make peace with her as she will be your Mother In Law.
