Re: Ok...how would you ladies take this?

She is completely wrong. I hate women who feel like that have to be at a man's beck-and-call. She should come to your wedding, alone if need be. She's weak. I hope she sees what she's doing is wrong and changes her mind. If she doesn't, she'll probably be the type that wouldn't talk to you after your married anyway. Just think about your family and the new one you're getting.

I would definately be upset with her. You have every right to be. People just don't think sometimes.
I am so sorry that you ahve to go through this.

I really think you should say something to her and tell her how upset you are.

People make me so furious sometimes!!!!

Oh Misty - I am sorry she did this to you....

Yes I would be very upset too. And I would have done the same thing - told her to her face I understand and then inside feel awfully hurt about it. Yeah, it's probably healthier for and your relationship with her if you tell her how you feel. But I know me - I would think that if my wedding was important to her, I wouldn't have to tell her how I feel. And if it's not important enough for her to be there then do I really want her there?

It may just be my rationalization though.

Hugs to you - she doesn't realize what she'll be missing!!

Misty .... I agree, what if this relationship doesn't work out? Is she going to call you & say ... btw I can come now, I don't have a boyfriend?!

Priorities, girls ... sometimes it amazes me. A really good friend would not even blink an eye at this.

Yep..totally agreed. I'm not going to say anything but ok though...I really don't have the head for arguments or anything right now.

I'm having a lousy day!

I think that you should just be honest with her and tell her how you feel. Explain that it more makes you sad that she's not coming than angry. Good luck!

Misty-
So sorry your friend has done this to you. Honestly, she really is not a friend at all. She is the type of woman I have absolutely no respect for, rearranging her life for a man she has been with for three months, DISGUSTING, it is completely unacceptable. Who needs her there!

I would be very upset, too....I think you should be more important (and IMO, are) than her boyfriend of 3 MONTHS cousin!!!

misty - i'm so sorry you have to deal with this!! some women have a bad habit that the minute they get a boyfriend, all their GF's fly out the window! it's so not right!!

I would be very upset, too. I am sorry your friend has let you down like this. It is too bad she is not independant enough to attend your wedding solo. I am sure she will regret that one day.

I'm sorry! I absolutely can't stand women who blow off their friends for a man. I would take it that she was choosing him over you and your 6 year friendship. I'd be hurt and angry. You have every right to be upset. I know what it's like to be brushed aside for the latest guy. It's not right and it stinks!

You're right to be upset. If she was a true friend, your wedding would come before any man (especially one she just started dating!)
Try not to let it get to you...you are going to have a beautiful day, and a wonderful husband whether she is there or not!!

I don't think its nice at all. Have you told her that this hurts your feelings?

Thats not nice. I hate when women take men that they have just started dating over their friends!

That's horrible....the stupidity of some people is just not to be believed. You are totally in the right being upset and if it was me--I'd probably open my big mouth--how could she think you wouldn't be upset!! OMG--the more I think about your post the more p*i*s*s*e*d I get--it's just common sense to go stag or compromise somehow--especially since they have only dated 3 months!! GRRRRRRR to some people.......

Re: Ok...how would you ladies take this?

That's not right. I would be upset too. My husband's best friend & my cousin are getting married the same day. I wouldn't even think of telling him that he can't go to his best friend's wedding. We are married and we are going stag.

I would be honest with her and tell her how you feel.
