Reg - tell him to speak with the H.R. department if there's a medical reason why he can't work those hours. They might be able to make arrangements for him.
definately. dont quit first. because maybe they can just fire him if he cant work the hours so he can at least file for unemployment.

So sorry to hear this, but this has to be illegal. Employers need to make reasonable accomodations for a documented medical condition. I would consult with a employment lawyer....

nod, if there is a medical reason, they need to make reasonable accommodations to accommodate his needs. have him talk to an employment lawyer, or if he is in a union, his union representative

Since he has a medical condition and cant work the hours that they are changing him to they will either have to accommodate him or lay him off. Tell him not to quit! What they are doing isn't right and they cant get away with it. Tell him to go to HR and send a certified letter stating his issues. Have everything documented. I would fight this! Good Luck---everything will be ok--you will see
