Since YOU didn't suggest you go out to eat, then I don't think you have to pick up the tab.

I OFFERED to take everyone to dinner after we went for the BM's dress fitting amd made it clear that I was treating them well before the day came. I didn't think I had to do it but I wanted to. Now had you suggested you go out to eat, then it gets a little less clear if you're expected to pay.

I don't think you were obligated to pay, you didn't tell them you were taking them out to eat. You didn't do anything wrong by not paying.

honestly, it depends where you went. if you went to a place where the per person charge was less than $20, i would have paid b/c they just put down $ for a dress

but if you decided to go to a place and some girls ordered $$$ entrees and others ordered like a salad...and then ppl ordered drinks...and the bill was alot, then everyone needs to pay their own way

you dont want to get taken advantage of either. so as long as the girls didnt go crazy in ordering food/drinks, i probably would have paid

but aside from that, i do think its RUUUUDE!! that FSIL said that.

No way! I mean I dont know how many bm's you have by that could quickly add up to alot of money! That was definitely a rude comment. I would be irked by it too. Maybe she just wasn't thinking when she said it.

ita, i think a lot of girls make a luncheon type thing after ordering the bm dresses where the bride hosts, but this doesnt mean that it was necessarily the case. and in any event, that comment fsil made was completely and absolutely 100% RUDE AND UNCALLED FOR!
