Re: Need Help: MOH and Matron of Honor question

Maybe have them both in the same dress - a DIFFERENT dress than the other bridesmaids so they stand out.

Then in your sisters bo-k add some extra colored flowers (tastefully of course) or maybe add crystal accents to the bo-k to make her noticeable different without going overboard.

i think have the MOH's wear something slightly different than the BM dresses would be a good start. did you think about boQ jewlery? maybe put a slightly more visible one on your sisters and a different one on your FSIL's

Re: Need Help: MOH and Matron of Honor question

i am taking my sis separately to pick out her gown...i will let her have a completely different gown

i also felt like i might have hurt her feelings as well, thats why im letting her pick her gown first and well do it alone

my aunt who is my 'matron of honor' is not getting anything special to stand out...maybe ill give her a bigger or different bouquet to stand out from bridal party...but ultimately both my MOH and Matron will get same bouquet

matron of honor will wear same dress as BMs

although...i might have everyone wear a different dress

but im thinking MOH in satin...the rest of group in chiffon
or MOH long...the rest tea length or cocktail length

Re: Need Help: MOH and Matron of Honor question

i know how you feel!!!

im having MOH pick first...

i think it will be nice to let my sis have first say...this way she will feel special and she wont have to compete

if the BMs pick first...then she might have to compete...or someone might steal her style

I don't know what you're doing in terms of DOJ, if that's part of the BM's gifts or not.. but I think you should give your sister her DOJ regardless of what you do for the other girls and make part of it GLAM, so it stands out as well.

SO
Different dress
Different bo-k
GLAM jewels

She'll love and forgive you.

Re: Need Help: MOH and Matron of Honor question

I'm having similar problems except I have one matron of honor (my sister) and TWO maid of honors (my two best friends). My sister was a bit hurt that i have 2 maid of honor but as i explained to her, my two MOH are my 2 best friends EVER like 'thick as thieves' type of friends.

I think to help all 3 feel 'more special' I'm going to give them more responsibility (haha)! I mean as a former MOH all i really cared about was being in care of everything, from the bridal shower to the bachelorette party to the dress style. So my MOHs will have ton of responsibilities!

Also, I will prolly give them different sashes on their dresses and maybe flowers in their hair..or a spa treatment with their gift. Just some ideas.

I'm so happy I'm not the only one going through this. I actually felt like such a horrible person for making this decision!

Also, who usually does the reading in the Church?

So here's my plan:
1. My sister will be the only one who walks down the Church aisle alone (distinguishing herself as MOH)
2. She will have a significant different dress than the rest; Matron of honor will have same dress as the other, but I will add something to the dress to make it different, or do a different dress as well.
3. Bigger DOJ/ gift too
4. She'll sign the marriage license in the Church
5. different bouquet (maybe)
6. she can do a reading in the Church too.

thank you for posting this because I'm going to have the same problem. My one friend is Matron (I was the MOH in her wedding) and my other is Maid.
