I got married at Atlantica West Hampton...I don't know if you would consider them reasonable though.

Not offended at all...I actaully had a hard time with her too...she was a terrible hostess during our tasting. Laurie however and Judy my maitre-d
were wonderful.
What about the vineyards in Aquebogue?

I met with Kristy too when I went to check out Atlantica, I had the same impression of her. She seemed like she was intimidated easy and almost seemed scared of me. (Believe me I'm not a scary or intimidating person at all!) I was just asking basic questions! I got married at Gurney's, that might be worth checking out. I also went to Rams Head on Shelter island, that was nice also. There's also Crow's nest in Montauk. Good luck.

Yes, Crow's Nest is in a tent. I think they advertise $69.00 pp. Gurney's went up since I booked them. I think it's now about $110-$130pp, depending on what you order for entrees. You might want to search for my review of them, to get a idea. July5bride also got married there and wrote up a detailed review. Let me know if you need more info.

Hi!

I'm not sure of what is reasonably priced in the hamptons but I looked at Gurney's (had two people I know get married there and were very happy) and I checked out the Montauk Yacht Club - very pretty and $105 per head for a buffet....I head the Villa Maria in Watermill is very beautiful but I'm not sure about the prices. I chose the Montauk Downes Golf Course because I could use one of two caterers and try to get a reasonable price per head - I'm at $88.50 but I need to but the alcohol and mixers too - but that includes the tip too which can be costsly at 20%! Let me know if you hear of anything very reasonable - I haven't signed a contract yet with the Caterer!

Hi jola!

First of all, Welcome to the boards!!

Where r you from? Villa Maria is in Watermill...almost opposite of the Windmill, its closed in by hedges and fence. ITs landscaping is really pretty. I do not think they have a wwebsite....and I have no idea of the prices there...but I have been to 2 weddings there, both very very beautful There is a new place in Southampton called Hampton Hall..it used to the be the Polish hall by the Southampton Train station....I would check out Montauk too....there is a polace in Sag Harbor too...Waterside...right overlooking the beach....they used to ahve great parties there, have not been there in a few years tho

Re: Reception Halls in the Hamptons

Hello ladies. I am getting married at Atlantica at the end of this month. I am very sorry to see how you have all had bad experiences with Kristy.
To the contrary, I thought Kristy was the most thoughtful of the staff and she has been a tremendous help to me. I am also an event planner by profession. I am very assertive, demanding, and extremely particular (due to the nature of my work and my expectations) and not once did I feel that Kristy couldn't handle herself.
As for Atlantica being reasonable...that's another story.
It seems as though Atlantica wasn't the space for you (totally understandable). I would consider the villa in watermill. It's very pretty.
Good luck.............

I too had my wedding at Atlantica and it was amazing, but I have to say I outright refused to deal with anyone directly except for Ginny and she was awesome!!!! I got a funny vibe when I met w/ Kristy and from that point forward, I told Ginny I only wanted to deal with her directly and not with anyone else. The others tried to intervene, but I stood my ground and had a fabulous time, and Ginny went out of her way to accomodate me. There's my two cents!

I have to chime in in Kristy's defense...I have been working with her for a few months (wedding isn't until next Fall) and she has been really great. She has been very helpful with ideas, etc. and great about getting back to me via phone and email. But, I'm sorry if you had not such a good experience with her!

how about East Hampton Point. I've been to a few parties there, and the food is awesome. Its kind of far, but its really nice.

Re: Reception Halls in the Hamptons

ya know, i don't think they have a web site, but they are past three mile harbour basically in springs. i can get the number for you. too, i know they have weddings in the off season for them (after labor day) but i'm not sure how late into the season. I'm not sure how to explain it. It is a really elegant cool spot. They have a sail boat in the bar area, also they have a really nice deck overlooking the harbour. i'll get the number for you.

East Hampron Point does have a website:
www.easthamptonpoint.com

But I doubt that it's reasonable in price - I would think its somewhere in the ballpark of $200 a head, knowing the few people I know who got married there! It is beautiful though and the sunsets are AMAZING - so id the food.

As for Atlantica, here's another bride coming to Kristy's defense. She has been nothing but helpful and has gone out of her way to accomodate us - she is such a sweet person. Laurie has taken over the planning since the wedding is a week away, but all of the details I went over with Kristy have been comunicated. Just my two cents.
