Re: XP from 08; Ladies with Invisalign...

i am a dental hygienist and any ortho work which invisalign is will vary in price from patient to patient depending on the serverity of the case...

INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER INVISIALIGN AS IT IS A COSMETIC PROCEDURE SO HOW THAT PATIENT GOT 1500 COVERED MEANS THAT HER DENTIST PREFORMED INSURANCE FRAUD....i would stay away from that kind of dentistry he could be playing with your insurance and down the road that 1500 can come and 'haunt' you....

but back to invisalign your best bet is to go get a consult and then go to another dds and get a consult and go from there....

Re: XP from 08; Ladies with Invisalign...

i wouldnt post that your dental insurance covered invisalign because its a cosmetic approach to ortho which means your DDS did insurance fraud because NO cosmetic procedure is covered by dental insurance....TRADITIONAL BRACES can be covered at a percentage.....

anything dental gets me as a dental hygienist

this is totally not true...if you have dental insurance that will cover braces, they will cover Invisalign...i know this for a fact...and there is no FRAUD involved

if you reread her post - it states that it covered 1500 of it - which is a percentage of the total - they will cover TRADITIONAL BRACES or INVISALIGN

There are insurance companies that cover percentages of braces.

being a dental assistant does not qualify you to say what is and isnt fraud - do you work for an orthodontist? if you did, you would know that they are covered - whether or not they are considered to be cosmetic - there is no law that states that COSMETIC PROCEDURES ARE NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE - while you are not trying to cause drama - you are giving misinformation - if it was not covered - then my insurance company would not have covered it - when my billing statement clearly stated that it was an evaluation for invisalign - they paid the claim for the invisalign - no FRAUD involved...

i am not an assistant i am a hygienist...and general dentist do invisalign not orthodontist.....

Re: XP from 08; Ladies with Invisalign...

FYI they both do it - orthodontists and regular dentists - and it depends on the insurance - it can be covered - i am not going to argue with you on this...you believe what you want...

my sister also had invisalign and is working with an ortho and her insurance too covered a percentage....I even looked into it for my son...spoke WITH my INSURANCE company and they covered the same percent for invisalign as they do for braces

Hmm my dentist is a fraud then because I got part of it covered to and I am NOT complaining.

I got 10 upper trays and 13 bottom trays. I paid $4000. Insurance only covered $700 (I know, not alot). I dont regret it one bit because I know notice a little change in my teeth and I am psyched.

Re: XP from 08; Ladies with Invisalign...

insurancees also depend on what kind of dental insurance coverage your company you work for signed up with.....but if some of it is covered that is greeat....
one thing for sure is most dental insurances stink....because they are very exspensive to buy into...definitly different from medical insurance with what is covered and not covered and percentages and what not....

invisalign is a great option for ortho if you are a canidate for it one thing i can say to the girls who are doing it is WEAR YOUR TRAYS and also WEAR YOUR RETAINERS AS WELL...teeth have 'memory' and will eventually shift back over time...so even when the time is up that you do not need to wear the retainers continue to WEAR THEM....

ANY DENTAL QUESTIONS NEED ANSWERS YOU CAN FEEL FREE TO FM ME....

OK.....If anyone wants to get their invisaligns for 1200 let me know. My friend has really bad teeth compare to mine. She will be getting them for 2 years. I am using them for 7 months and we got the same price. FM me if you are interested.

I've had invisalign for over a year and I am LOVING the results. I used Dr. Ostreicher is Levittown just like someone esle said above. He is an ORTHODONTIST - my insurance cover 1500 and for 36 aligners on top and 24 on bottom I paid ... 4900 -1500 = 3,400.

****************************************
There was no fraud involved when I spoke with my insurance company they knew it was INVISALIGN and on my claim it clearly states INVISALIGN TREATMENT. It is NOT just a comsmetic treatment. So, def. look into it~!
