yacht clubs on li

ok, now i am on the yacht club thing - they are all on the water. they don't specialize in weddings usaully, but maybe we can bring in a caterer. what do you think? i went to barnes and noble and got an atlas of suffolk and nassau county. my task is to find all the yacht clubs, search the internet and visit the location sites. don't laugh, i know i am getting a little out of hand at this point, but i want everything to be perfect. if anyone has any suggestions of a yacht club, please let me know. 1 problem is i think many of them require you or someone you know to be a member.

thanks guys!

It's your wedding, as be as picky as you like!! I knew it as soon as I walked in Land's End that I wanted to get married there. When you find the place, you'll know it too. Have fun!

Thought this might interest you...

i looked at lands end, well drove through the parking lot. it was beautiful, but lacking grounds. my fi's cousin got married there and he said it was gorgeous. the food there is amazing i am sure because i went to a wedding at flowerfields (catered by the same company) and the food was awesome. i am definetly going to check out lands end again. i really want right on the water, where we or our guests can walk (if we want) with boats floating by. that is my ideal, but again i can't be so picky i guess.

I have never been to a Yacht club, so I can't contribute to that. But if you are looking for water/boats, etc., did you look at Land's End? I am getting married there in November. I was just there again on Saturday. It is almost right on the water, and there are a several boats around there (ferries are VERY close by.) Just a suggestion, and I hear the food is out of this world.

You might want to check Captain Bills, they have a seperate facility right on the dock in Bay Shore. They dont have any other grounds but you can certainly walk by the boats. I have been there for a family function and the food and service were very good.

I'm doing a yacht club too

thank you so much. i was actualy going to check it out tomorrow. saw it on the map and added it to my yacht club list. quick question (sorry to be a pain in the ass) but is it right on the water? can you walk on the beach if you want, or is it just a pier?
