YAY FH is considering Europe

Original post by Espo22

Ok well for a couple of months now, our plan was to go to vegas and then tahiti. But I have always been concerned that we wouldn't have alot to do in tahiti. The problem with Fh and I is that we don't like to lay out in the sun, after 20 mins he gets antsy and bored, and i can do maybe an hour. Tahiti is great for people who do love laying out in the sun relaxing.

So anyways i was talking before with FH about a tahiti honeymoon review i read on here yesterday and how beautiful it looked, and then mentioned the few restaurants but the whole not much to do thing came up again. He said to me that he also has been concerned about this and thinks there wont be alot for us to do. So i saw it as a great opportunity to throw Europe in the convo, which i had done before but he always had no interest and he said yes ... I brought up going to Capri, and a few places in Italy and the greek islands, and he said we should consider this I think for us its more of our speed, theres lots to do, a big nightlife especially in greece. Plus I love history and these are two great places to go for that.

I still think tahiti is absolutely gorgeous, but for us i think this is a better option. Plus capri, and greek islands should be gorgeous too lol...Ive also always wanted to go to the french riviera so ill just have to look into all these places

i've been to the amalfi coast twice including a day trip to capri, it's beautiful...and a great place off the beaten path to honeymoon!...feel free to fm for more info, i've been to almost every town by boat on the coast including 2 different towns (for a wedding nevertheless!) in the mountains on the coast...i'm not sure how much time you would be interested in spending there but you could easily spend a week going to different towns everyday and still sleep in the same hotel every night...it's a destination more popular with european travelers (italian, british, and german except capri, definitely more american) but that was an aspect i personally enjoyed! good luck!

Oh thats right the amalfi coast, how did i forget about that lol...Thank you so much, i really appreciate it, it would be great to get info from someone who has already been there. Yeah Fh would enjoy a place that is more american lol.

Thanks again

No problem, like i said fm if you need any info, i've had many trials and errors there...you would probably like capri and positano the most...unbelievable shopping and nightlife!

what about Santorini??? I hear it is BEAUTIFUL!

we were pondering going to Italy since FH has family in Venice....
we reconsidered only bc when we go we would want to spend more than a week there to really enjoy it and seen as much as we could...and this would mean a lot of touristy things....we always pictured our honeymoon as lazy days on the beach... but thats is just us!

You lucky girl! That's awesome that you might be doing Capri and the Greek Islands for your HM. My FH is the same way - he has no interest to go to Europe and I would love to go to Italy one day. I know if I wanted to go bad enough, he would definitely go for it, so I know your situation. That's great though that your FH agreed to considering Europe!

yeah he had said before ok if you really want to go ill go, but i wanted him to want it to you know. His parents just came back from capri a few weeks ago so i think that helped a bit, and i REALLY want him to go to his dads hometown in italy(calabria) i think it would be nice.

Im still in shock that he said yes

It's funny that you mention Calabria- I know you aren't a teacher but my class is doing an author study on Tomie DePaola and his Strega Nona books are based in the town of Calabria. They ask so many questions about it so we have been researching the town and it's history.

That's awesome that you are so excited for Europe! My FH is in charge of the HM and he chose Ireland and Italy but I would love to go to Greece and the Amalfi Coast. So we are going to have to compromise somehow. I would absolutely suggest going to the French Riveria. I spent several summers there and I loved every minute of it because it is so gorgeous!

OH WOW denise your gonna love ittttt!

i know ive been doing alot of research this weekend...Were def thinking of capri and also monaco, and then maybe a few days in rome, venice and also considering santorini.

Its funny bc we would pay about 7k-8k EACH to go to tahiti and for that amount 14-16k we can do a great trip in Europe and after we mentioned this we both realize now how much better it is for us. Monaco is all about casino's they even have casino square, perfect for us lol
