I felt so special walking out of the DMV today with my new name...
social security geez....we finally inquired why they weren't calling those needing name changes...they said it would be hourS before they got to us!
i kindly asked if i could mail it in and where to mail it and walked out....i had 30 minutes left on my 2 hour parking meter!
BUT i can totally use my new name now and that's cool!!!!

Yay...how exciting and official!!!! I love my last name I would love not to change it but FH has a nice one also mine is just alot less common which I like! I've never met anyone with my last name other than family.

i actually had a nice chat with the guy at the DMV [imagine that] about women not changing their names...we both agreed it's a personal choice and that no one should be pushed in either direction...which was interesting coming from an 'older' man....someone older than my father, but not a dinosaur just yet. i just expected to have that conservative, traditional attitude...and he didn't!
my last name was really wacky [and even though kara/kittythestray liked it...] so i was thrilled to make the change!
i say, to each HER own!
so i am happy for you for knowing what you want and doing it [or NOT doing it as the case may be!!!]!!!
