One more thing crossed off my list before we move east - we rode our bikes over the Golden Gate bridge. It was the perfect day for it - incredible weather!
days like this make me aware of how much I'll miss SF...
(we've been wanting to do it for months, but the bridge is often foggy)

Wow, that is SO cool!
We were in the area for our honeymoon.. spent a day in SF but of course it was totally foggy and we couldn't see a DAMN thing.
But you had such perfect weather!! Thanks for sharing, it must have been a great ride!

Lisa - that is one gorgeous SF day! I just showed Jeff the pics...we are sitting here waxing poetic about our SF days...boy, do we understand how you guys are feeling!
So glad you got to do the ride - it's a great experience! What else is on your list before you come back East?

Claud, other items on out list:
Napa (again) - which we're doing in Nov with Erica Tomales Bay for Oysters (again) Hearst Castle Mendocino (which we did a few weeks ago) hoping for early snow in Lake Tahoe
I know there's more but thats all I can think of at the moment...any recommendations?

Re: Yesterday's adventure - PICTURES
Lisa have you driven the coast? I mean from San Fran...all the way down to LA? It's long, but soooo worth it!!!!
If you want to do an abbreviated version, you can just do the 18 mile scenic drive around Pebble Beach. It's so amazing there!!!!

Nice!
Have you ever drove along PCH? I loved doing this!
Isn't the GG bridge 8 miles long?
That's a nice bike ride!

Re: Yesterday's adventure - PICTURES
Ack! We wanted to get to Hearst Castle before we left, and never made it. I am still disappointed about that...Jeff has already been (since he lived out there longer), but I never was.
What about Monterey/Carmel? Any designs on San Diego? We loved it down there! I of course, had to go back to Muir Woods one more time, The Japanese Tea Garden, Sausalito/Tiburon and there were tons of restaurants that we hit (mostly in downtown Palo Alto, b/c we lived right there).
Enjoy every moment, Lisa. I wish I could do it all with you! Please bring some of that Cali sunshine with you when you come home, okay?

Re: Yesterday's adventure - PICTURES
we've driven HWY 1 many times, both north ans south of SF. We're often on it going to Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. The monteray/pebble beach area is beautiful too.
We haven't taken 1 all the way to LA (though we have driven to LA numerous times and been on the 1 in that area, Santa Monica etc.).
The trip tp Hearst Castle will be another nice coastal drive.

Re: Yesterday's adventure - PICTURES
The Golden Gate is pretty short, actually. Not sure the exact length, but the longest bridge in the Bay Area is actually the San Mateo Bridge (7 miles).
