My FH and I are only 22 when we get married I will be 24 and a month after he will be 24. We have both (but mostly him) been getting a lot of crap for being so young. Someone even told him to dump me because we are too young! IMAGINE THAT.

People don't know sh!t about you two, tell them 'thank you, I appreciate you PROJECTING onto me (wedding crashers ).
I bet if you did an age poll, at least 15% of the brides here (the whole site) are your age or younger. Welcome to wedding planning, where everyone has an opinion on what you say, do, eat, etc!

Don't worry about it!!! If your ready your ready!!! No one can tell you when your ready to get married. I know alot of people who got married 'young' and are still married to this day. And there more in love now then when they got married. If you know he is the one and want to get marrie dnow then go for it!! No one can tell you otherwise. And people who do say things like that are 1. jealouse. and 2. unhappy in there marriage and want to see you unhappy too.

I am sure there are MANY people who got married later in life who no longer feel the same way about their spouse, hence the rediculous divorce rate.
I knew since I was 20 that I wanted to marry FH, but both financially and (for him mostly) emotionally were not ready to take the next step until now (we are 25). We still get 'you are too young' all the time, and for the most part it pisses me off, although I see where people are coming from. I know that by today's standards, it is young to get married, however, we have been together for a long time and know that we want to spend the rest of our lives together, so why wait?
My only real concern is that because I am pretty much the only of my friends who will be married, I might be isolated amongst all the single gals - but I'm sure that won't be a problem and I'm sure as the year progresses, more of my friends will start getting engaged and stuff!

I think the majority of girls on this board are around your age. I wouldn't feel that bad. there are only a few of us the will be OVER 25 when we get married. Anyway, don't listen to anyone. Everyone's got an opinion about everything when it comes to a wedding. When it all boils down, it YOURS and FH DAY! ITs your lives....enjoy it. Take everyone else's philosophy with a grain of salt!

I've heard that all too! I'm 23, FH is 22. When we get married I'll be 25 and he'll be 24. But i've been engaged for over a year. And i had just turned 22, I got all that you're engaged already! It doesnt help that i look younger than I am but i try not to let it get to me. Everyone is different. Just because they didnt last or feel the same it doesnt mean its going to apply to me or to you!

Don't let it get to you. Some people just have to put their 2 cents in whether or not you asked for it! My best friend got married at 24 and she heard the same BS from people. In the end you have to do what is best for you

i have been with FH since i was 15 so i could have gotten married at 16 if we were ready then! ( we definitely weren't but you know what i mean)

you will always hear too young/too old/ wrong color/wrong season/wrong hall etc.

dont worry about it - just enjoy this time!!

dont let what other people think bother you.

everyone is going to have an opinion about something about your wedding.. whether it be your age or time of the year or color of your bridesmaid dress.

it is your day and FH's day... dont let the dumb things people say get to you...

Oh yeah, and I wanted to add... all of those people saying that you're too young... ask them how old THEY were when they got married, chances are, they were younger than you will be!

I've gotten that before (I'm 21 and will be 22 in February). Although about 95% of the people said nothing about me being young, there are always those few people that comment that I'm young. Age is just a number - you'll know when you've found 'the one' and are ready for marriage, whether you're 18 or 40.

It's inevitable that people are going to say mean things after they find out your engaged. For some reason when people hear the word engagement they really hear 'I should tell these people my extremely uncensored obnoxioux opinions'. You MUST laugh it off or it will drive you insane, seriously!!
