Does anyone else have a really hard time with FH in the kitchen. FH wants to do everything, most of our fights take place in the kitchen b/c he always tries to out-do me when it comes to cooking or anything household related.....
Last night he got in my way and we had a huge blow-out about how he needs to let me be the woman in the relationship.....
ok vent over. Can anyone relate?

not so much...If he wants to cook, he's MORE than welcome...I'd eat baked chips and salsa every night if it was up to me!

We've never had a fight over the kitchen. He's a cook so I rarely do my own cooking. I like to bake.

Re: YOU FH AND THE KITCHEN
I can totally relate. I do most, if not all, of the cooking...which I don't mind at all. FH is not completely brain-dead in the kitchen but his skills are limited to things like...omelettes. Every once in a while he tries to come in and take over while I'm making dinner and it drives me NUTS!!!! Then he pretends to make fun of me saying I don't know what I'm doing which couldn't be further from the truth and it pisses me off. And when he does actually manage to take over a pot that's already on the stove, he burns it, and then dinner is ruined, and then I'm mad. And hungry.
He of course thinks this is funny when it happens and that I should lighten up. Thank god now I know I'm not the only one....

HA! we're the opposite...I clean dishes as I cook, because we don't have a lot of counter space and I hate a big mess...he cooks, and I've got a PILE of dishes to wash! And I do it right away, since they're everywhere, and he's like...'relax, don't do that now...' I tell him...I CAN'T relax, when the kitchen looks like this!!!

ugh- fh actually went to school for cooking and works in food service all his life, but he is such a freakin mess in the kitchen.
He uses like 15 bowls when 2 would be sufficiant, then spills things all over..how idk he never sees the mess to clean it up either...selective sight maybe...lol
i dont let him cook b/c he is such a mess, its easier to do it myself or go out to eat.

yeah, I feel the same way, I like making dinner for him, for both of us to eat together. But in my case, I don't think it's that he really wants to help cook as much as he want to be a pain in the @ss.
