Does anyone else have a really hard time with FH in the kitchen. FH wants to do everything, most of our fights take place in the kitchen b/c he always tries to out-do me when it comes to cooking or anything household related.....
Last night he got in my way and we had a huge blow-out about how he needs to let me be the woman in the relationship.....
ok vent over. Can anyone relate?

we argue cause the deal is if i cook he cleans the dishes ... well sometimes it takes him a little do the dishes ... he get mad casue i use so much stuff to cook ... i tell him he is more than welcome to cook!!!
HA! we're the opposite...I clean dishes as I cook, because we don't have a lot of counter space and I hate a big mess...he cooks, and I've got a PILE of dishes to wash! And I do it right away, since they're everywhere, and he's like...'relax, don't do that now...' I tell him...I CAN'T relax, when the kitchen looks like this!!!
he always says to me why cant you clean along the way ... i do sometimes but if i am in a rush or i have to do a lot of things to prepare it i dont have time and i dont ...

Haha! I went to culinary school so its always like a competition because you know he's the man...lately though he's been like hanging out with me when i cook and he'll be like why are you putting that in there and I get all defensive! I guess I just got used to defending myself working with a bunch of guys who doubt your every move. He gets mad because he's really asking me to find out what I'm doing and why so he can learn. Then I feel like a jerk because I made him upset. I'm horrible! Lol, its been much better lately. I've learned that we can cook together-we just have to be more patient. But yeah, he's not allowed to add ingredients unless he asks me lol. He always does the dishes though, I don't complain!

Sorry I don't have any of these problems... I don't cook at all (he does) and he cleans!!!! I do the major scrubing a few times a month but he completely cleans up after himself! The benefits of him living on his own for so many years!

If he wants to do something im just like YES please go right ahead...he doesn't cook lol so that doesnt happen...But he cleans up alot, does the dishes and always puts things away and im just like ok great by me
haha same here!! he's a chef so hes used to the cleaning, and i love when he cooks...but when i cook he doesnt try to 'out do' me ...he loves it!.....sometimes he tells me im using the knife wrong but he just doesnt want me to cut myself :)

Ill be seasoning the meat and somehow he breaks in and takes over and then he says, 'How did I end up cooking' And I start yelling about how he takes over and then we fight lol Its fine if he cooks all the time, I just dont want him complaining about it cause its his fault!

I wish I had that problem all FH does in the kitchen is wash the dishes. He cant even boil water.

ohhh yes i can! ... we had a huge fight last night because he kept tasting my pasta sauce and ADDING things to it! urggg i hate when people do that because what if I was just about to add something to it and they already did that so I add twice as much!!!
We had macaroni last night as well. And since I was working alittle later than usual, and he was home early, I had him start the gravy. I told him EXACTLY what to add, and told him not to add anymore. FH has a thing with adding like every spice/herb we have in the cabinet to everything we cook...I specifically told him not to, cause i didnt want him ruining anything. So i get home and run over the stove and I tasted it, and I look at him and hes like 'I swear I didnt do anything differently' I was like 'oh yea then why does it taste like S*it!' lol Then he got upset....But normally i'm the one cooking cause he comes home later than I do. But occasionally he enjoys taking over and cooking, which is totally fine. As long as he calms down with those little extras that are NOT necessary!

My fh does all the cooking. H enjoys it and I am not so good at it so it works out great for us

I can SORT OF relate...FH leaves me a lone when i cook...he helps clean and same goes if he cooks, i clean...however..... i still live at home and my dad is convinced that he is a chef!!!
I can be making something as simple as an omelet and he's like ANG THE HEAT IS TOO HIGH....YOU HAVE TO ADD THIS....LOWER THE HEAT ANG....DON'T SPRAY THE PAN WHILE THE BURNER IS ON.....YOU'RE NOT ADDING PEPPER??? YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.....THATS NOT ENOUGH CHEESE....ANGELA....LOWER THE HEAT......YOU'RE USING THE WRONG KNIFE.....DON'T USE THAT SPATULA...USE THIS ONE.....

i do most of the cooking but if he wants to make me something and i even go and grate cheese or like clean out a bowl he will put everything down and say 'i guess you want to cook so i will leave' and that's it he won't finish!!

what is it with men that can only make omlettes, mine too!
Same here!! He can make turkey burgers too! That doesn't happen anymore. I do all of the cooking now and he is responsible the dishes!!
He'll ask if he can help but I almost always say no unless my hands are messy. I like to cook alone. Plus our kitchen is small.

Normally it's just a fight over him being IN MY WAY when I am trying to get dinner on the table. DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! He won't set the table till the very last second and that is when everything is coming out of the oven, etc... and all of a sudden, there he is... going slower than molasses in winter slllllooooowwwwwwwlllllllyyyyyy getting out of the plates, cups, etc...
DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! Would it really be asking too much to have him do it 5 minutes before everything has to be put on plates?????

I'm happy to say this is one problem I can't relate with... my husband likes to cook and I have no problem with that! I say, great go ahead... A tasty meal with no work for me... who am I to argue?
