You Know You're Old When...

You no longer look at the the night before Thanksgiving as the biggest bar night of the year. It's official. I'm 30, and this will be the first year I don't hit a bar. Instead, we have made plans to gather at a friends house and drink merrily there - at least I'm not the oldest one in the room in that setting!

Anyone else have plans?

I'm only 30 this year but, I gave up on this night a couple of years ago. It seemed that the lines for the places were getting longer and longer, the number of people I knew were getting less and less and it was almost impossible to get a beer. One of the last times we got stuck out as well, we called a taxi and it never came. Of course this night is always one of the coldest of the year as well!

Now I do something a little more low key.

I'm going out!!!!!!!! 24 effing years old and getting married ain't no excuse for me!

I'm hitting my friends lounge in Tribeca (Sugar) to start the night off and then heading to the Sutton Area Bars - Turtle Bay/Sutton Place/Redemption and will probably end up in BAR RIDGE towards the end of the evening - Kettle Black/Salty Balls, etc.

i am very 'bridge and tunnel' too - when ever i go to the city - if its passed 2nd ave it wayyy too far.....

i have had plenty of fun nights in sutton place......

Don't feel bad, I am 27 and made the same realization. Once I saw kids I used to babysit for at the local bar, I knew it was time to call it quits.

ahhhh ending an evening at the salty snatch-is there any other way to go

Im working @ Coach tonite but we might go out afterwards to the Corner for a drink...

I'm with you Jeanine, I never went out on Thanksgiving Eve. Never even realized it was a big party night. But I'm not big into drinking anyway. I'll be doing some grocery shopping with my mom, and btw I'm only 2 weeks shy of my 25th bday!! I don't think I was ever 'young'!!

ugh!! to be young again!!! i had grad school tonight! can you believe they did not cancel class?? I got home around 9 and have been playing on the computer! How's that for exciting!!!
