We are just going to get a different priest. The church has been really good about it so far. I would only be upset if he had married this and this news came out. At least this is 22 days before the wedding and not after!

Thank goodness you found out now before the wedding. How uncomfortable though. I'm sorry!
It is truly awful how so many horrible people there are out there that abuse their positions and sexually abuse children. Then so many of the kids wind up holding it in for so long. This poor guy that finally disclosed has been holding that inside him and carrying it around for 30 years! What an impact that must have had on his life. Uggh....I am an advocate for sexually abused children so this is a soft spot for me.
I'm happy that this came out now though so that you won't have this man associated with your wedding.
