YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE THIS!!!!

OH MY GOD!!!! GET THIS!!!!!! FH's aunt HAD THE NERVE to call us yesterday and leave a message on our machine (3 actually - b/c they were so long she kept getting cut off.) And she started by saying, 'Hi guys, it's Aunt So and so....blahblah blah....I want to congratulate you and say that her son (FH's cousin) is graduating from HS the day of our wedding and it's his special day (the graduation is in the morning) and we don't know if we'll be able to make the wedding.... CAN YOU CALL THE INN AT EAST WIND AND RESCHEDULE YOUR WEDDING FOR ANOTHER DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' And the madness continues when she says, It's his special day and it's not fair to him and if she wantS to throw a party on Sunday the day after our wedding no one will come b/c they went to your wedding the day before and it's not fair to him BLAH BLAH BLAH....' Is she crazy!!!?!?!?!?!!??!!!! She left 3 messages and they were sooo long and she went on and on and on and on. I was PISSED!!! HF called his mom and we played the messages for her and his dad. His mother (that was her sister) is FUMING MAD!!! I don't know what happened yet but I know I was upset for a while. Am I wrong for being upset???

IM SO SORRY THAT YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY LISTEN TO BS LIKE THAT....IS SHE SERIOUS....IF YOUR WEDDING EXPERIENCEC HAS BEEN ANYTHING LIKE MINE...GETTING MY DATE AND MY HALL WAS HARD....I WOULDN'T CHANGE IT FOR ANYONE..UNLESS SOMETHING DRASTIC HAPPENED..NOT A H.S GRADUATION...TELL HIM TO TELL YOU TO YOUR FACE THAT HE WANTS YOUTO CHANGE YOUR DATE.....AGAIN IM SO SORRY...WHAT ARE PEOPLE THINKING.

I am so sorry that you had to hear that! Some people have all the nerve! If the graduation is in the AM, they can still attend your wedding. Even if not, that is their choice! If she is so worried about having a party for him on that Sunday & no one showing, then she should wait a week! Don't let her stress you out!

Oh god, sounds like my FH's aunt. As soon as I told her May '06 she started freaking out. Good thing I choose 9/06. I just can't believe the nerve of people.

I can't believe that someone would actually have the nerve to ask you to change your wedding date!!
They can have the graduation party the next week if shes so afraid people won't come. Really, big friggin deal.

I'm sure most of you will agree that a wedding is a more planned event than a graduation. If the grad is in the AM, they can still attend your wedding. They can have the party the following weekend. You wedding day is MORE SPECIAL than his graduation day.

I would actually use her message as comic relief when the planning gets to be too much.

OMG, that is absolutely insane!!! I can't believe that she would be so stupid as to actually think that you would change your date for his graduation party. As if!

Sure it's a special day for him too, so maybe you could mention it during the reception and have him stand so people can clap for him. But that'd be about all you should do.

It's completely ridiculous, she can have it the week after or even the week before. You handled it perfectly by sharing with your FMIL and letting her address her sister. Some people have some real nerve, I'm fuming over this one!!!

Or you could call FH's aunt back and ask her if she could call her son's school to have the date of the graduation changed!!

I'm so sorry to hear what she is doing to you. I'm sure your FMIL and or FFIL will have a talk with her and if she doesn't like the day your wedding is on to bad. It's your day, your SPECIAL day.
