Well if I get the date I want, I chose it because it will be our 8 1/2 yr anniversary (i want to stick with our same day)

Re: your date

When we got engaged we knew we were limited in times of the year we could get married...

I'm a teacher and Matt coaches HS football, so we knew the fall was out....

We knew we had a wedding in July of 2007 that FH is in so we couldn't do it before (then we'd be on our HM) and we didn't want to do it right after because they would be on their HM. Then we had a weekend left in August and it was too close to my b-day so I didn't want it - good thing because now our good friends are getting married that day!

So then it was fall and we knew we couldn't. So we went with the Christmas theme. We didn't want to do it before, but between Christmas and New Year's. We are so excited for our date and because I am OBSESSED with the holidays it works out very nicely!!!

I always wanted a winter wedding and loved the idea of a wedding on NYE.
Just thought it would be really fun!

Re: your date

Im a teacher so i needed a date where I would have time off... we couldn't afford a summer wedding and so we chose the saturday of february break...worked out well because people were able to take the long weekend off (president's day) and because it was the winter we saved a lot of money on vendors and it was a great to have our HM in the carribbean.

Re: your date

we started thinking last Oct that it was time to set a date, wanted nice weather but not too hot and thought May- Aug would be more money. (who knew Sept was so popular too?)
We decided on Sun nite and were looking at 9-9 or 9-16 when RH we were interested in said the holiday Sun was same amount so our guests now have Mon to recuperate!

Humidity is non-existent in November, the leaves are really changing, and our vendor wanted to book the date...however, i was informed that our date (18) is good luck in the Jewish religion!

Re: your date

We knew we wanted to get married in the summer because I'm a teacher and I wanted to be able to get married and go on a honeymoon before school started again. We started looking at dates from mid July to early August so I would have some time between the end of the school and the wedding to finish up details. When we saw that the 22nd was a Saturday we knew that was our date because the 22nd has always been a special number in my family.

Re: your date

We really wanted to get married in the summer because we are both teachers. We really needed a Sunday because we are both Jewish, and the ceremony wouldn't be able to start until after sundown on Saturday night, which is too late in the summer. On top of that, there is a Jewish holiday that runs for three weeks in the summer, where you cannot get married. That begins 7/20/2008 -- so we wanted to get married before that rather than after, so we are getting married 7/13/08! It was scary because we had no flexibility with the date, and felt soooo much pressure to book fast. Now that we did, I haven't done anything else!

Re: your date

welll... we actually had a civil ceremony last year...just the 2 of us...on July 07... so we wanted to have the real wedding this year ont he same date, but obviously we were tool ate because 07 07 07 is a hot date...so we booked for the next weekend, the 14th.. about 2 months later our friggin RH says they made a mistake and double booked so we had to change our date to either June 28, or July 28...picked the later one so we could be certain that schools would all be out.

We picked 10/14/06 because we met on 10/14/02 and thought it would be nice to celebrate the day we met forever.
