Your Dress ...

Your Dress ...

As I begin the hunt for 'the one' (as in attire - Ive got the hubby all set) I question ...

How much is too much?

Its hard to say 'budget' at this point so I am just curious on average what is everyone spending on their dress (not including alterations, tax etc)? Ive spoken to a few friends who seem to be coming in with much lower prices then what I have tried on!

Just curious ... ?

do you girls think we should say a price under what we are really looking to spend?

Re: Your Dress ...

I didnt really go in with a set budget. I was hoping to spend under 2k..but I'd go over if I fell in love.

I ended up spending $1100 before tax at Macy's Bridal.

it really depends on if you factored in alterations in the price youre looking to spend... id say they will be anywhere from 200-500

my dress was about 5200, i wanted to stay around 3500 but for ballgowns i was finding it really hard to stay in that range

i would just tell them what is economically feasible for you try not to beat around the bush

On sale at David's Bridal. Originally $1100 I believe...sale was $800. I can't believe how much girls on Say Yes spend!! But I guess if you got it then go for it!

My dress after all is said and done is $1800... The dress was 1900, bargained down to 1400 (that includes tax) with alterations capped at like 250 or something but I also wanted buttons added and i have 3 bustles.

I set aside $4k. First dress I thought was 'the one' was $3600. The real 'one' turned out to be $1600! I used the extra money towards shoes, alterations and honeymoon.

My dress is $1499 and my alterations max at $250 and I know it's extra for a french bustle which I have. I'm not really sure what the total is going to be. I'll leave that to my mom. I paid for half and she is paying the other half.

Paradise Bridal in Patchogue.

i'm probably going to get beat up for saying this but mine was about $6500. however, i went in assuming it would be about $2000 and happened to fall in love with mine.

My gown was $750 and it capped at $400. I think the cap is a bit much though.
