lol...fh had no clue when he was gonna propose until 2 mins b4 he did...wasnt planned ...he had the ring for about 2 weeks i think and he was waiting for the perfect moment...he did it in fron of all of his cousins from croatia ....
Our date has no meaning, well until now! We were supposed to go on a cruise on May 26th, but one month prior we found out the boat was being shipped to dry dock to get engine repairs. Hence the trip got cancelled. His parents decided that they wanted to take the family on a lavish 5 star cruise that left out of NY and wanted to stay in the 3 bedroom garden villa, with a living room, full bar area, piano, with a private sundeck & private outdoor area (it was incredible). Anyway to reschedule the cruise in the exact way his parents wanted it we had to wait until the week of July 14th. FH had to postpone our engagment for over a month, since the ring was coming in time for the original cruise. The ring had to go in a safe at the bank, so he wouldn't be tempted to propose. He said it was the worst month of his life. I also thought he would propose before the cruise, so I didn't help very much. Needless to say he proposed on the privated sundeck hours into the first day before the cruise set sail (another long diaster, since the boat almost didn't leave). We had a private dinner on the curise and it was amazing. Even though his parents, sister & family were there I didn't even know it until the next day.
I don't think he put much thought into the date itself. He just felt it was time and he bought the ring while we were Christmas shopping. He held onto it a few days cause he wanted to speak with my parents and 'ask for my hand'. I think he also wanted to do it around Christmas time cause it is the only time of year that we see all of his family and all of my family within a day of eachother. (all his family is upstate and my family is all over the place) So it was a good way to celebrate and announce or engagement.

The first time.. we were making gingerbread houses and there was a little gingerbread man, and i said i couldnt eat him because he was too cute... fh then said, 'thats it...your too much' goes to the fridge, gets a orange juice container band and says 'Its not a diamond but i know you hate them, so take this instead, and promise ur gona marry me?'I said 'What?' and he said 'Im so serious, would u promise to marry me?' I wore that orange juice ring until last month lol<3

b/c that was the date my ring was finally ready :)
the ring came in a week early and he couldnt bare to have it in his possession for a whole week and not give it to me.....plus it was a bonus that i got to go back to school and show off my ring to everyone our first day back!
bc that's when we were going to be in napa (to go on the hot air balloon ride).

Yeah actually, I have it in a box right now and I want to somehow put it on my boquet, or go to a jeweler and see if there is something they can do with it.... haha
plastic and hot metal doesnt work well th ough... so we will see ...just want to surprise him
