Re: Your Gown
Well I had 'my' dress in mind b4 I was even officially engaged but then it was the 2nd dress I tried on & I loved it, but continued to go to about 5 shops & tried on TONS of dresses (just to be sure). I finally narrowed it down to 'my' dress & one other, but ended up w/ my original.

Honestly... No. I knew what I liked, and basically was able to narrow it down to 3, then 2... and i ultimately chose my dress. I'm completely happy with it, and know i will look beautiful...
However, not to offend anyone here... but i found the most frustrating thing about dress shopping is that it seemed like I kept hearing from people that 'i would know when i found 'the one'' well, i probably tried on close to 100 dresses, and i'm not a cryer, nor is my mom, so that wasn't gonna help me... and I didnt know it when I first tried on my dress that it was 'the one'
Part of it is not having tried it on in the color I wanted the first time.... i will tell you I knew when i tried on something I didnt like... but as for 'the one' i really didnt get that,

Re: Your Gown
YES!! i started bawling even before it was completely on me!! and honestly, it wasn't even a dress that i had seen anywhere. it was so hard for me to even find it online after i knew that was it.
i did go back to try it on with my mom before ordering it just to make sure and when i put it on again it just confirmed my initial feelings.
also - i had tried on about 20-30 dresses.

Re: Your Gown
Yes, I had tried on around 10 at one store and then 15-20 at another one. The saleslady said to try one more (I was getting very discouraged) she picked it out and it was the one--I was so excited I didn't know what to do with myself and my friend that was with me started to well up with tears. It was such a great feeling!!!!

Re: Your Gown
Yes, but after I ordered it I had doubts about whether it was the one. I think there is a lot of pressure to find 'the one,' but in reality there maybe a lot of dresses that could be 'the one' In the end I chose a dress I want to wear on my wedding day.

Re: Your Gown
YES!!! I had known for 6 months it was 'the one.' I had envisioned so many other dresses, but one day I saw my dress as the spotlight for the new line...I fell in love. I didn't even want a ball gown!

Re: Your Gown
I went on 2 dress hunting trips. And tried on a bunch of them. It was the last dress I tried on which looked nothing like any of the others I had tried on. I was crying in the dressing room. I had to compose myself before I showed it to my mom, MOH and grandmother. I wanted their honest opinion before I told them it was THE ONE. They loved it and actually thought I didn't (guess I was trying too hard to conceal my excitement). You'll know when you find it. Just try on all differnt styles of dresses you never know what you think you don't like could be it!

Re: Your Gown
The last one after I tried on about 25, I put it on and was like THIS is it. I didn't think I'd get that feeling because I liked them all but when I put THAT one on it was like, 'This is ME.'

That is exactly how I feel. I know that I will look great in the dress and I know I will be happy, but I did not get the Oh my GOD feeling.... I will go to a couple of more places and if I still dont get that feeling I am going to buy the dress that I like and I know I will be happy!! Thanks girls! you rock!

Re: Your Gown
Just to make you feel better I didn't know right away either. I too was feeling indecisive about a lot of things and I felt very overwhelmed when I was there in Kleinfelds trying so many dresses on, and I had been to several shops before too. I think it is ok to think about it for a while and not know the minute you try it on. Also, try not to stress yourself out about it so much b/c then you are in a bad mood when you are trying on and that doesn't help, just try to enjoy the experience and know you will find something beautiful!

I am so indecisive to begin with. I tried on SOO many dresses and I like a lot of them. I really like one in particular, but I dont know if it is the one. I just dont know if I should keep looking until I get that feeling that it is the one, or if I should pick the one that I really like.
I am in the same boat is you baby! I THOUGHT I found the one, then when I tried it on to show someone I tried my runner up...I also took some pictures and I think the runner up is more flattering...now 'the one' doesn't really appeal to me...am I trying on to many...do I get the one that I really like now?...will my feelings change in a month again?

Re: Your Gown
I agree. I first went with my freind and after trying on aboout 9, i narrowed it down to 4 and then brought my mom and sister without telling them the one that I thought looked best on me. Since they picked the same one I did I bought it.
The problem is is that after you buy your dress, you may see dresses that you like as well (at least I did!) When I was looking at photographers and kept seeing other girls' dresses in albums I kept thinking, 'Oh no, hers looks so much more flowy than mine' or 'I really should have gotten that kind of sleeve!' A married friend of mine had warned me this was going to happen, just choose the dress that looks the best on you and that you feel you will be comfortable wearing all night. Because honestly, so many are beautiful! Good luck!

Re: Your Gown
Yup. I hated it in pics and on the hangar, but my mom just wanted to see it on me and as SOON as I walked out of the dressing room I was like this is IT!

Re: Your Gown
I actually tore mine out of a magazine and said I wanted to order it. It was the one. My family didn't like the idea so we went shopping and tried on probably 35 dresses at 3 different stores. This was the worst experience of my life. I hated it, it was boring and discouraging. The problem was no one in NY, NJ or Penn carried my dress. So I called the designer in FL to make an appointment to try it on (I work for an airline so I fly for free) and they told me a place that they thought would have it. I called they had it, in the red and everything. I went there, tried it on and bam. I bought it.
