Your groom-to-be's attitude..

Your groom-to-be's attitude..

So....

Lately my FH has been a psycho maniac.. and flips out about the smallest and dumbest things. Now, let me give you a small background about him.. HE'S A HIPPY (wannabe lol)..and is very chill, relaxed..passive.. I can go on and on and on..

For the last 2 months.. he has NOT been himself at all.. he yells and flips out like I've never seen before.. which makes me yell and flip out back (hey, I'm from Brooklyn..sleep with your eyes open FH).

So my question is.. Is this normal? Do most FH's act like this before wedding.. and become groomzillas? lol

The reason I'm asking is because my friend, who's getting married before me.. said that her FH is acting EXACTLY the same way.. so I'm thinking that maybe I won't have to stab my FH in his sleep with a pencil eraser.. maybe he's just going thru some wedding related stress?

Thanks

OMG yes!!! Jerry has been flipping out over the littlest things. Untill about 6 months ago he was the most relaxed Groom-to-be I had ever seen. Then old Groomzilla came out. He has complained, pick on, flipped out on every little thing. On top of it he is now waking up with cold sweats. i think he is having panic attacks

So yes i think its normal.

1st of all - about BK and the pencil stabbing hehe

2nd: I cant say my DH turned into a psicho 2 months before, he turned into a groomzilla waaaaaaaay earlier than that LOL
honestly, its very stressful the whole wedding thing and everyone feels it - be it the bride or the groom
my suggestion is just to let it go and maybe to reassure that everything will be ok and that the wedding looks way more intimidating leading up to it and on the day u just feel happy and want to have as much fun as possible. I know I had to reassure my DH ALL THE TIME
maybe even let him have a couple things for the wedding the way he wants them to be?

LMFAO....Brooklyn. Omg that;'s so my mother.

Anyway, Yea, Derek has been snippy snappy and even to the point where he eyeballs me when I 'go out' because he knows I'll spend money.

I go to a Bar that serve $1 drinks once a week with the girls, I have 2 drinks and leave a tip, so what I spend $6? I'm not allowed to have a tiny bit of fun?

Oh, but he can go to Vegas for his BP and what am i doing? dinner. seriously GFY is on the tip of my tongue.

Men.

The thing is.. he doesn't admit to the fact that it's wedding related.. he blames it on everything BUT wedding.. so that's why I asked if it's normal. Because it if it.. I will lock his a$$ up in a cage until the wedding and wont let him come out until he quits that ish!

@ the pencil eraser!!!

Its because he's from IL.... jk! :)

I think that the grooms attitude does shift as the date gets closer. MY FH is all about the budget now, so every argument is about money (and trust me, we are having a low budget wedding...so he should be quiet!). I think your FH is normal, try not to kill him hopefully his pms (pre-married syndrome) will send soon!

GFY has been out of my mouth and in his face like 3490854309859340 times in the last few months.. mofo needs to recognize! I was thisclose to cancelling the wedding a few days ago because I wanted to punch him in his face for yelling at me. He's lucky he's cute, otherwise I don't hold myself responsible.

OMG IT'S 100000% because he's from IL... all you people are so calm and nice.. and you don't know how to honk at people when they don't drive normally!!! LOL

yeah he complains about uplights all the time and tries to convince me that we don't need them and then tells me we can use that $$$ on something else, like our hm.. and get's mad when i ignore him. good times!

I'm getting married in 9 fr!cken days and I want to stab my FH! His breathing annoys and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual. He just left this morning for his bachelor party and won't be back until Sunday....ahhhh.

It's one complaint after another....SHUT-UP!

Ok Vent over, you're not alone

Funny you say that.. after our last fight 2 days ago.. we were going to sleep.. and he was like 'Baby I need a hug'.. I couldn't even look at him, let alone touch him..so I was like 'HUG URSELF THEN!'

Ugh!!! Hugs to all you girls for dealing with these men!

Re: Your groom-to-be's attitude..

Experiencing the same thing now - and even more so when I raise that I am looking to move our date to 12/2010. I've found that talking less about the wedding and just doing most of the vendor research myself eases the tension between us.

Only thing I'm bugging FH about is

1- address list for his family/friends to invite
2- tuxes for FH, groomsmen and father
3- making sure he asks his friends to be groomsmen/best man

the rest, I just say 'as long as you show up at the time/place on our wedding day, thats all that matters!! you can sleep all you want after that!'

oh I was close to cancelling the wedding gazillion times LOL
including 4 days before when I took off my ring and put it in his face, all was due to a HUGE fight btwn me and my mom cause of his behavior
but then we all cooled down and it was actually a blessing in disguise as we all realized how redonculous we all were behaving

just try to think of how much u guys love each other under regular circumstances.
and a very important word of advice: if he asks for a hug just give it to him, escalating things never helps, no matter how mad u are at him
learn from my experience LOL

Yes, it's normal. We were ready to rip each other's throats out the month before the wedding! But now we're back to being good. As soon as it was the wedding day, none of that mattered!
