Your Hair and the Man/DH/BM/Whatever he is....

I'm 75% leaning toward dyeing my hair brown.

I have to talk to the man about it. Not because I'd let him tell me what to do, but I feel like I have to break the news to him (he adores the yellow hair).

If you make a drastic change, do you feel like you have to warn him?

I think he kinda likes the surprise, see what I come back looking like each time.

I never know what I am going to do with it anyway, until I get there and Alan tells me.

when I cut my hair shorter I warned him. Then he didn't notice. It was like 8 inches shorter. He was busy with Playstation

So yes. Just in case.

ETA: Plus I wanted to give him time to practice his 'I love it' face in case he didn't - haha

I went from longish blonde to short black. I didn't tell him. I like to surprise him. It didn't go over too well, he likes it light. So I have an appt for next friday where I will dye it blonde again. I am not telling him.

i was told in no uncertain terms. . . that if i cut my hair shorter than my shoulders he is shaving his head completely. and trust me, one thing we both have in common is rather large heads. . . i already have childbirth nightmares.

but hair color and different cuts and stuff i just do it - he doesnt care.

one time I didn't ..like 10 years ago.

my hair was down to my butt practically and I cut it to my chin.

he was shocked.

then he said it was cute.

then he said 'never do it again'

he likes the mixed messages that one LOL

now, I tell him...and he's never surprised anyway, b/c no matter what...it's never shocking.

DH is very good at knowing what looks good on me, and he tells me the brutal truth.

He told me 6 years ago that he thought I looked great with short hair. The longest my hair has been since was right before the wedding, because I too liked it short.

I told him I was going to go get it cut and he said, 'But I like it long.'

He doesn't like it when I dye my hair. But I don't let that dissuade me.

I like it when other people dye their hair. I live vicariously through them.

Kitty, I think your hair looks good light too. Less Ashley Simpson-y.

I don't 'ASK' but i inform him of my decisions. He knows that as soon as I can get into a salon my hair will be cut after the wedding. I hate this long crap on my head. it gets tangled and I just totally hate it. I want my short hair back!!!

nope, I cahnge my hair color very frequently so it would just confuse him if I told him/asked him every time...

I can't wait for the wedding to be over -- chopping it off and dying it dark!

I cut like 6 inches off the DAY I got back from my wedding (BEFORE the honeymoon). Best. Decision. Ever.

I cut mine a week after the HM. Everyone kept saying 'Ohhh....it looked so nice long' Stupid hoes. Currently in the process of regrowing it

Lets see. DH and I have been together for just about 3 years. In that time he has seen my hair:

butch short and red

shoulder length brown with highlights

chin length natural brown no highlights

He would like to see my hair long and red. I am working to get my hair long with highlights. We talk about it, but I ultimately do as I wish.

To answer your question, I don't make big physical changes, but if I was I would probably consult him.
