hey girls, after a conversation last night, I got to thinking. Do any of you have reservations about what your last name is going to be after you're married? Like, does anyone think, 'wow, that just doesn't flow well' or 'it doesn't sound right'? I feel like that all the time and there was never a moment where I thought I wasn't going to take FH's name, but when I think about what my full name will be it just seems too weird!

I don't have any problem taking FH's last name. But we are having some discussions, because he doesn't want to be announced as Mr. and Dr. and I worked damn hard to get my PhD and I want to be announced as such.

send FH back to school and get him cracking on his PhD! LOL

He says he'll do one of those online degree programs or get ordained or something so that he can have a special title too.

what field is he in? maybe he can get some sort of certification after his name LOL

I love my current name and I also love FHs name....they are both different.......but I think I'm just going to take his.

I like FH's last name and I can't wait to change my name, but here is my problem, his last name has two 'z's and I can't write them in script. I feel like Billy Madison when he couldn't spell Buzz in script.

would love to hyphenate, but my last name is a color (an adjective). so its just gonna sound funny..

I love my last name though. Dont want an Italian name. 2 many syllables. Hard to pronounce!

I really don't like FH's last name - and I think my name sounds bad when matched with it - but I really want to have the same last name as any kids we have. I'm going to keep my name for work though!

so since then im like...hmmm

but I want to get rid of my last name anyway. Its cursed and i really do not want any conection to my dads side

I hate my last name, so i use to joke that i was going to get married just so i can change it . So obviously, I'm ecstatic about changing my last name to his.

my last name is pretty unique and although i HATED it in HS...i've actually become quite accustomed to it.

my last name is Eccles (pronounced...Eckohls...) i've only heard one other person (besides family of course) with the last name and it was a character in the show Veronica Mars (her boyfriend).

anyways FH's last name is Berg. my mom laughs b/c he has blonde hair and blue eyes and is norwegian and when she hadn't met him yet she thought he was Jewish!!...i just thought that was funny.

one of my friends was pointing out (while contemplating doing an engagement announcement) that our Title would have been the Eccles-Berg wedding...she said that Eccles-Berg sounded like a town in Europe. so that immediately crossed out me ever hyphenating my last name...

so bottom line i'm just going to take his last name...it flows really nicely with my middle name as well.

I am not too fond of my last name and I think it is too symmetrical with my first name lol. I like FH's last name and am happy to take it because I feel like I have been part of his family since I was 14 anyway. The only thing is that I have worked hard to get a nice signature and no matter how much I practice writing my signature with my future last name, it just doesn't seem to flow well or look right. I hope I can get the hang of it!

I am kind of excited to have his last name. my last name is kind of boring (or i just got tired of it) so my new name will be one that will get made fun of for sure, which is totally fine with me. and i cannot wait to see what my students will shorten it too.

I love my maiden name but I also love FH's last name (mazzilli) so i dont mind switchin over... but i'm jus gonna hate being asked 24/7 'are you related to lee mazzilli?!?!? ' which Fh is, but thats not even the point
