Your Proposal: How did he do it?

Mine is really long! I hope you don't mind!

I'm still so excited because it just happened a few days ago! Becasue it was our 6 year anniversary on Dec 14th we figured we would celebrate on Saturday the 17th. He made dinner reservations at 10:00 and told me that he had something planned before dinner. He picked me up at 6:15 and told be we were going to the Vanderbilt Museum to see a show at the planetarium. We have been there before and I was excited because the planetarium is amazing. We got there and had the whole place to ourselves. Little did I know, he had rented it out.

So, there we were - sitting in the planetarium all by ourselves. The sky started to turn dark (as if the sun was setting) and little by little each star was appearing. It was absolutely gorgeous. I felt as if we were lying outside starring up at the sky. Then, 'our' song came on, Only Time from Enya and I thought how adorable. He had brought in a CD that he made of 3 songs but at the time I didn't even realize it. I just thought that it was a coincidence.

All of a sudden I saw words starting to appear in the stars and when I saw my name I was shocked, it read, 'Justine, to me you are perfect. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.' I started to cry of course and still thought, for a second, that that was it. Then, I looked up again and it said 'Will you marry me?' I have never been so surprised with anything in my entire life. Obviously, I said YES!

Lastly, we went to dinner at Nick D'Angelos. When we got to our table there was a large white candle on it and roses waiting for me. 3 pink and 3 red (one for each year we have been together) and a card. The whole night is something I will never forget.

Thats so funny weddingbunny. I wish I did that! It was in such a state of shock and everything happened so fast I wish I was able to capture the moment.

I do have the slides tho that my FI ordered in advance - they gave me them at the end.


We also did the long distance thing! Glad thats over =)

aaaaaawww all those stories are sooo cute!!!!

he took me to the Manhattan Club (a hotel in the city) and we were gettin ready to meet our friends for dinner and he got down on one knee...it was really cute...i didnt want to go to the city, bc i had surgery the week before and was still so tired from it...but it all worked out good

We got ours on video-my BF had a video camera and recorded it!!!! We showed it to his parents and they almost died when I turned around PO'ed at him!

ha, it's funnier in retrospect than it was in the moment... poor guy, he was so nervous. He was supposed to wait until midnight (he'd worked it out with my dad), but broke down and did it at 10:30 because he couldn't take it anymore!
and yeah, long distance *****.

My FH asked me at the brooklyn promenade on valentines day in the rain and wind we had just gotten out of dinner at river cafe and he took me to promenade and said a speech and got down on his knee...my response was hysterical crying and screaming what?! are you sure?!

Sorry this is long....

we went to Vegas in the summer of 04, on nite we ate at Top of the World restaurant which is a 360 restaurant that gives you a view of the entire las vegas strip..towards the end of dinner at dessert, al was talking to me and he was like 'damn you have bad breath, eat candy', and i was like how is that possible, I just ate a 5 course meal...so he gave me the Certs box, and i opened the cover so the candy would come out...but it didn't so easily, so then i looked inside and i saw the inside of the ring...and I quicky gave back the box to al and started covering my huge grin on my face!!! then he came over to me, said his lil speech, and I said YES!!!!

After dinner we went to the observation deck...took some quick pics, then headed back to our suite..it was about 1 am when al got a phone call from the front desk to come down and get something, so I was like kewl! he bought me something else!, so I was staring a my ring as he went downstairs....

He came back up with a card...and it was from my cousins Jojo, Iris, Jonjon, Rissa and George saying Congrats!, and I was telling al 'They Knew?!?!?!?!' in the back of the card it said 'For my engagement gift open the door to your hotel room'. And I was like awww...they sent me flowers and balloons....so I opened the door and BAM!!! It was all 5 of them!!!! I got so scared, I was soo surprised...They have it on tape! :) It was so shocking for me to see all of them at my door at like 1-2 in the am! I think i woke up our floor!!! Apparently they've known Al's plans for the longest time and they never told me!!!

I'm still on cloud nine becuase this happened to me only 2 days ago!!! We spent Xmas eve over in LI with FH's family and as soon as 12 am hit he wanted to leave so we could beat traffic going home to Brooklyn. He drove like crazy and we made it home in record time and luckily my parents and sister were still out. He told me he wanted to exchange gifts as soon as we got home so as i was washing my hands he told me to sit down becuase we needed to talk. He got so serious I thought something was really wrong and i even said 'are u breaking up with me or something?' lol after about 2 minutes of panicking he got down on one knee and after that everything is foggy. i remember covering my face, hearing him say the 4 magic words and laughing and crying at the same time. I said yes of course and we ran upstairs to tell my parents who already knew...we toasted with some champagne and i couldn't stop shaking the whole night. i've never loved him as much as I did in that moment.

It was November 28,2005
2 days b4 our 5th year anniversary. I had been looking at halls because my dad was coming over from Brazil for xmas and I told my FI that I wanted to book something while my dad was here so he could help with the cost. Soooo I was home on the computer about to show him one of the places I visited that day and he was like, 'I feel so bad, you're putting the horse in front of the carriage, you're looking at all these places w/out a ring'
I was REALLY annoyed by that comment, thinking, I better get that ring soon then!!!! then he asked 'Do you think 5 years is a long time to wait to get engaged?' and I'm like'YEAH, of course it is! what do u think!' and he was like 'Well I don't want you to wait any longer' and he got down on his knee and showed me the ring. I was soooo SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!! I knew it was coming soon b/c we were together for so long and how I was already looking for places, but I never thought it would be THAT day! He really surprized me! I cried like a baby, and hes like 'well?' and I'm like 'OF COURSE!!!!!!' lol
