What made you pick it? We are thinking either April/May or September/October.

Re: Your wedding month
I just love fall, and it was a good amount of time away from when we picked the date. we looked at sept and oct because we both really like the fall.

Re: Your wedding month
I wanted fall, so we were orinally thinking october, but once we got to the rh's all the prices dropped off once you hit november, so we picked the first week in november!!!

So November is much cheaper than September/October??

Re: Your wedding month
Our venue has a lake and is goegeous in the fall (we are being married there also) before we actually set a date we went and looked at RH then when we found one we said ok what do you have available for 2008. Initially we were shootig for an October wedding but they were all booked so we went for September because both of our birthdays are in November an we didnt want our birthdays and anniversary in the same month.
Kinda crazy way to pick a date huh? For us it was practical to do it that way though.

Re: Your wedding month
we wanted to get married in June.. we met in June, got engaged in June and then when it was time to get married, we had to consult with our families and hold their traditions and pick a date.. and we wanted a saturday.. and not the week FH will graduate and not close to fiscal close.. haha..
so may 31st was it and we're also having a small ceremony on June 1.. a post wedding ceremony.. so this way we can have june 1st as our anniversary as well.. thus capping off June!!
sorry kinda long..

Re: Your wedding month
Even though as a teacher I'm on vacation all of July and August, I HATE the heat. I'm not a summer weather person, never have been. FH loves summer and it would've been ideal, timing wise, but everyone who knows me knows that I'd be the biggest B**** with the first trickle of sweat. Not so much for melting makeup, but more so that I'd want to rip my face off and stick my head in a freezer. My mom says I've been like this since I was a baby.
I absolutely love the fall, the cooler weather, and the colors of the foliage in the backgrounds of pics would be beautiful. Between my schedule and FH's business trip schedule, we decided on November. We chose very early rather than later, since my family has several birthdays, anniversaries, and then Thanksgiving towards the middle/end of November.

Re: Your wedding month
We acutally wanted September, because I've always loved september. But, when we picked out RH the only dates available were August 23 or October 18 and I've always hated October ( I have no idea why) I just don't like the way it sounds..I'm a wierdo. lol
So we picked August..it meant the wedding was sooner anyway!

Re: Your wedding month
I chose mine because we had to have our wedding before school started in september and it was pretty much the only saturday my RH had available. I wasn't planning on a May wedding but now I'm so excited about it!

Sorry...I'm new to all this.
Is September/October considered a 'cheaper month'? Is the summer months more money??

Re: Your wedding month
I wanted a garden wedding, FH wanted access to booze!
So a vineyard it was ... and prime season for vineyard is September, grapes are in all their glory, and weather is ideal for outdoors.
Oh and it really depends on the type of venue you want! I read that weddings in May and September are the most expensive!
I would think Nov-Feb are really unpopular and hence catering halls, etc, are looking to fill!

Re: Your wedding month
We chose March because we went on our real first vacation together in March - the date we had to work out with the Rabbis who were marrying us but it worked out great as well because two weeks after we got married the prices for the RH went up a bit higher than what we paid.

Re: Your wedding month
with FH's work schedules we could only have it between december and March, I really wanted NYE, but knew it would be too expensive, so i picked January 2nd which is close enough

No, September/october are actually more expensive. I was told by several RH's that Sept is the most expensive month. October is a little less $$ and then in November the prices drop some more. Jan-March are the least expensive from what I've heard.
Spring is also expensive, but a little less than Sept.

Re: Your wedding month
we were looking at dates in 2009 that landed on saturdays we both thought 7/11 would be cute and silly so we are doing 7/11/09

Re: Your wedding month
I originally wanted to get married in the summer or spring but spring was too soon for us and I couldn't get married in the summer because of work. We decide to go with either October or November but went with November because we got a better deal.
