What made you pick it? We are thinking either April/May or September/October.

Honestly, I can not be HOT, he can't be cold, so Oct seemed just right, also it's a beautiful time of year & almost no bad weather.

Re: Your wedding month
We really really wanted Spring - my bday is in July, FH is in September, so we wanted something that was nice weather but still spread apart from the other celebratory months lolll as silly as that may sound. It sounds ridiculous to some, i know, but we like to spread out things to celebrate and our anniversary (5/23) and our birthdays will only be 2 months apart from each other respectively, it was also important that our wedding be in a good weather season, and we just felt that September was taken with his bday and too far away lolllll
And, as an added factor 22 is my favorite # and 24 is FH's so the 23rd seems to be PERFECT!!

Re: Your wedding month
i always wanted may/june or sept/oct. i am a teacher so if i got married during the year... i couldn't go on my HM until the summer... and i just will not...get married over the weekend and go back to work on monday.
i also dont love the heat at all.. so july/august was not happening.
so i picked june 27th...my school usually finshes school the last wednesday in june... so we booked the following saturday....
then the school calendar came out for next year...i am working until friday the 26th

Re: Your wedding month
August is my birthday month (the 6th) and it's just always been my favorite month! Plus, it worked timing-wise with the babies being born to our bridal party!!
And most importantly, we didn't want to wait another year!

Re: Your wedding month
I love the fall and I only wanted to be engaged for a year or so- I figured Sept was the busiest month so I tried for Oct and it worked out

Re: Your wedding month
I'm a teacher and love summer weather. I always wanted a summer beach wedding...also I wouldn't be able to have a honeymoon if I got married at any other time of the year. I also wanted time to set up the house, enjoy being married, etc. So we chose July

I've always just loved June.. the weather is beautiful and not overwhelmingly hot just yet....i thought i could never afford a wedding for any dates during peak season.. but w/ a daytime wedding i managed to get what i wanted! i am getting married exactly one week after my birthday in fact LOL.

Re: Your wedding month
Fh originally wanted May- but I didnt think we would be able to afford a wedding with only 1 1/2 years to save...so then I suggested December- we got engaged on Christmas, and I thought it would be cute...but we both love the number 9 and Jan 9th fell on a Saturday night...and the deal we got was great so we went with January

Re: Your wedding month
We got engaged in September, and I wanted at least a year to plan the wedding. But I didn't want to do Sept or Oct because it's usually crunch time in baseball and then it's the World Series!!! I didn't want our wedding to possibly fall on a night of a big game where all the guys run to find a TV and watch the game (I've seen it happen before at weddings and always thought I'd be so mad if it was happening at my wedding). So we went into the beginning of November, and ended up doing 11/7, which is the day after my bday!!! Everyone asked me if I'd be upset having my anniversary right after my bday each year, but I said no, it's just 2 days in a row to celebrate me!
As for prices being cheaper in certain months, I've found these days it's not so much true anymore. I was thinking having the wedding in November would be cheaper, but it's not true. I guess it really depends on the particular RH and their pricing for the months. November has become quite a popular month I was told by many places and people.

Re: Your wedding month
Well, we originally picked November because of cost - it's supposed to be cheaper in the late fall/early winter months. But then when we started pricing places we found we STILL couldn't afford it. So we went with a regular rental hall and a seperate caterer. Which at that point would allow us to pick whatever time we wanted but by then my heart was set on November and it would give us more time (we only started planning this past February).

so may 31st was it and we're also having a small ceremony on June 1.. a post wedding ceremony.. so this way we can have june 1st as our anniversary as well.. thus capping off June!!
sorry kinda long..
What are you doing differently from the 31st and the 1st??

Re: Your wedding month
I let FH pick because I would be deciding pretty much everything else.. and even though we are teachers he was adament about not marrying in the summer (too hot for him) and I would have loved fall or winter, but the breaks just didn't work so April it is!
And we were given 'off/winter' season rates for it because it is the first weekend and yay for that!

Re: Your wedding month
We originally want October...but we got engaged the end of November and we wanted to enjoy the holidays without stressing over the wedding. When we did finally start planning October was way too close and he didn't want to wait until the following October so we pushed up to a year from when we found our RH! February 27th!! It's coming quick!
