'You're to young to get married!!!!' ....Mind your business!!!!

I hate it with people say Im to young to be married. I will be 21 when I get married( turning in November) and FH is 23. Both of our parents dont care one bit so why should any one else? FH graduated from college, I will in December, and FH makes good money. So whats stopping us? Im tired of hearing people saying that crap. My neighbor just saw my ring and was like 'oh my gosh are you getting married?? you are so young' . I wanted to say so bad well at least Im not a old hag like you and by myself. I mean i think it doesnt matter. FHs parents were married at 18 and they got divorced. and my parents married at 34 and they got divorced. So it goes to show you that it doesnt matter how old you are. Theres no 'right' time.

I'm going through the EXACT same thing! I don't understand it either...i'll be 20 on my wedding day and fh will be 23 so you know the drama that's causing! I don't see the big deal either because both of our parents don't mind too, and his parents were both 20 when they got married and they just celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary and are very happy...I really don't see the big deal, and why people like to but into other people's business..

It doesnt matter how old you are when you get married, just as long as you guys are happy and in love that is all that matters , dont worry about it sweetie

i know that ***** to hear all the time. People have to think about what they say and how it affects people.

but in all honestly, im speculating of course because i didnt hear her tone of voice but in that situation, i would not have gotten mad. It seemed more like she was surprised that you were engaged and knowing that you are on the younger side. she probably didnt mean it to come off that way but more like shocked that you were engaged at all.

Well if it makes you feel better I used to get the exact opposite. I used to get when are you getting married you are getting old... Seriously though it really isn't anyones business but you and FH.

I get that too. I'll be 20 on our wedding day & FH will be 21... and our daughter will be 2. Our families are okay with everything, but perfect strangers have been telling me for 3 years that I'm 'too young'. Ignore it. As long as your happy, that's all that's important!

That annoys me so bad... I've really been lucky and not too many people have said anything, i'm 22 now and will be 24 when I get married... same with FH, but I don't think it matters at all how old you are. Either you know you're ready or you're not. That's all that matters! Also, both me and FH will be graduating in 2008 and starting our careers and all and there's no way we would do that apart from each other, I couldn't imagine my life without FH! So why not get married? It makes no sense to wait when we're ready now!

see..this is my theory

you say when its time to get married because you want to spend the rest of your life with the person you are marrying

for me..anything over like 32 is too old for myslef personally to get married

i want to spend my whole life with my Fh..so weere doing it young..my goal in life is to be a great grandmother..and we need to get started..

ill only be 22 when i get married..2 months after the wedding ill be 23 and fh will be 25 about to turn 26 at wedding time and he feels too old

i think its great

I say the exact same thing! That reminds me of a funny story, my 24 year old cousin with two kids and two baby daddies who had her first child at 16 told me 'i'm too young to get married' a couple of days after I got engaged I just don't get it...

I am soo glad that I am not the only one to get mad
when random people say this garbage !!! I get soo mad all the time, that people are like whhhattt how old are you?? I went into a bridal salon once and the woman told me to come back when I was of legal drinking age! So I showed her my 3.5 carat tiffany diamond and told her that we prolly make more than her in 2 weeks then she makes in a year ... this probably wasn't the nicest side of me, but I was sooo mad... The nerve of some people!! We are in love thats all that matters

I'll be 31 when i get married, nobody has ever said I'm too young hahaha.
I mean really age doesn't matter, when you find the one you marry them, just took me longer then you!
