Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

Hi all!!

First post here! Still figuring out how to use this thing so forgive me if my lingo is off!! :)

FH and I are just about ready to (finally!) book our RH (Bellport Country Club) and we're trying to get an idea of hotel choices... The BCC works with a few but I was wondering if anyone from the area (we're from a bit further west on LI) has any suggestions on places for us to maybe check out?

So excited to finally be booking! I'll let you all know when it's official!!!!

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

I am from Bellport. My best friend got married there 2 summers ago. She had her guests stay at the Islandia Marriott. It is at least 25 minutes away, but is by far the nicest hotel around there. The rates were really good, there is a pool, you can get the bar to stay open for an after party, have breakfast the next day, etc.

There are closer hotels in the Medford area (also on LIE), I can look up if you need.

Let me know if you have any Bellport related questions. I am currently planning a Bellport rehearsal dinner.

I am getting married at Bellport in September. I booked at the Crowne Plaza Holtsville and there is a Hampton Inn on the other side of the xpressway

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

How has it been working with the BCC for you so far? Are you working with Robert or Gerard? In your working with the Crowne Plaza - have you talked to them at all about the free shuttle service they provide? Is it a van or a bus?

sorry to slam you with questions!!! :)

thanks!

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

I believe it used to be the Marriott. When I booked my rooms they said they were doing major renovations, so I have not seen the rooms since then

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

The Crowne Plaza told me they do not offer shuttle service, did they tell you something different. I have worked mostly with Robert, Gerard is a little bit more difficult to get a response from, I am still waiting for a response from an email last week. Its nice to finally talk to someone that is getting married at Bellport

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

sure, they do use certain transportation companies, one is classic coach. There is also the Hampton Inn across the expressway but I don't think they offer free shuttle to the hall either. Can I ask, are you getting married outside?

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

stupid question, I was just wondering if you were using a runner for outside. I am worried about my shoes and tripping on the runner or if I don't have a runner getting stuck in the grass, silly I know

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

Not silly at all!!! In fact this morning I was thinking the same thing... a few members of FH's family are disabled and walk with crutches/arm braces... I was thinking the same thing about having a runner but it causing tripping issues... as opposed to not and causing grass stains...

maybe we could lobby for them to make that area a patio! some nice brick work.........

:)

Re: Bellport Country Club - What hotels did you use?

It is very nice there. We thought about doing our wedding there, but they couldn't comfortably accommodate our size for a winter wedding.

The food used to be not so good (going back 10 years), but it is really really good there. I don't specifically remember what I ate at my best friend's wedding, but I do remember my other friend had duck as an option, and that was very good. My best friend had chocolate covered strawberries, and that was a nice touch everyone talked about. One of my friend's did a trial to taste the bread they put on the table, and said she didn't go with their basic bread, she didn't love it, wanted something more interesting.

I remember my friend saying something about chair covers, she didn't like the chairs without them, but I think she had to pay for the covers. They were definitely pretty.

There are two different ways you can set up your cocktail hour. Did they get into this with you? If so, I recommend you pick the option where they close off the part of the back, and use that, and spill outside. It is really nice. The stations were all very good.

You will have amazing pictures on their grounds. You should also have limo take you to 'Mother's Beach' at end of South Howell's Point Road, and to the docks at the end of Station Road. The attached beach picture is at Mother's Beach.

I can email you more pictures from two weddings there from my personal email account if you email me your personal email account.
