Bourne Mansion ... ???

So ... my fiancee and I began our wedding venue search today visiting The Bourne Mansion, Flowerfields and The Woodlands and by FAR the Bourne won for the day. I walked into their grand ballroom and immediately began to cry. Has anyone attended a wedding there or had their own? Feedback? Photos?

I am a newbie here (engaged all of two weeks ago) and could use any information as I float amongst the clouds

Thank you! <3

i also fell in love with the bourne...it's high on our list! I have heard nothing but good things about the place!

We saw the Vanderbilt today, you might want to check them out too!

I have tons of pics I collected from the web, not sure what you are looking for...if u just search bourne thru LIW you will get tons of photos./

Re: Bourne Mansion ... ???

We just saw the Bourne today and were going to take a ride over to the Vanderbilt but we didnt have time. Wasted some of our traveling going to Flowerfields which was not my taste at all. Can you tell me a bit about pricing at the Vanderbilt if you can? I know youre looking to get married this year so our pricing would be different. It seemed more intimate so they said. Any info could be helpful!

I walked into the ballroom at the Bourne and literally BURST into tears! Embarassing?!?! LoL I was looking for pics of it set up but couldnt find much. I dont want it to seem too open if that makes any sense.

Lmk about the Vanderbilt pricing if you can and CONGRATS!

Re: Bourne Mansion ... ???

we booked Bourne! We absolutely fell in love. We looked at the Vanderbilt too, and although it was very nice, it was nothing compared to Bourne to us. Also, Vanderbilt was too small!

We're expecting about 225-250 guests. I did receive pricing for Vanderbilt in Oct of 2011. I don't have it onhand, but it was alittle cheaper than Bourne. I think it was 110 a head?? plus a site fee?? not as big as Bourne though.

Hope this helps!!! PS. Lessings food is amazing, and Ive heard great things about both locations.

Re: Bourne Mansion ... ???

My cousin got married there, it was amazing! Took FH to see it when we were looking for our venue, and he fell in love with it too. Unfortunately we needed a bigger ballroom, though, I was sad we couldn't book there. There was a man there throughout the wedding with an earpiece (maybe Steve?) he was very good at keeping everything going smoothly. They did the Venetian hour, cigar rollers, etc, I got a feeling from this place like no other.

Re: Bourne Mansion ... ???

the site fee is actually paid to st. johns university.... so technically it can be a tax deduction....

plus the site fee is sooooo much less than some others I've seen... Raphael vineyards was between $8,000 and $15,000 depdending on time of year.. and that was just the site fee!!!

Re: Bourne Mansion ... ???

Visiting the Vanderbilt tomorrow and revisiting the Bourne. We fear the Bourne may be TOO big for us. We are looking at only 150 and while its extravagent and gorgeous it may be a little TOO much space for us. AHHHH!
