Bride & Groom Seating????

Anyone know if there is a specific side of the table that FH and I should be on? We are having a sweetheart table (just the two of us) and i'm trying to see what side of the room to seat my family so I wanted to see if it matters what side of the table I sit on????

Re: Bride & Groom Seating????

I was told when making my seating arrangements that the brides side should have the odd numbers with the brides mother's table being number 1 and that the bride, if doing a sweetheart table should sit on the side that coincides with that.

Re: Bride & Groom Seating????

The weddings I have been to, the bride sits on the left hand side of the groom,

even numbered tables I think..

Re: Bride & Groom Seating????

since you are also westbury manor, they told us the bride side is usually the odd numbered tables. But we could do whatever we want. But we did it that way. Then i would sit in the 'passenger seat'

Re: Bride & Groom Seating????

Yes the Bride's side is the odd number side (1, 3, 5, etc.) 'and that the bride, if doing a sweetheart table should sit on the side that coincides with that.'

But as for the set up location in the room, you should speak with your catering hall. Last week when we finalized everything and our catering manager drew us up a floor plan on how many tables, people per table, where the band will be, etc. - it was very helpful.

Re: Bride & Groom Seating????

I had my wedding at the Westbury Manor, and yes, my side of the family were on the 'odd' tables (I always knew my family was #1!!). I ended up sitting on that side of the sweetheart table, but I think it was only because the bridal attendant sat me there...I had no clue what was going on! Also, it really doesn't matter in the end because you really won't be sitting down much anyway!!!
