Cupcake Wedding Cakes

Anyone know of anyone having this instead of traditional wedding cake??

FH & I are picky lol...... (well me by choice but FH b/c of his diet)

don't make fun of me BUT I hate mooshy food so alllllll fillings in cakes make me gag.... (don't laugh to hard) AND FH is hypoglycemic so he can't have sugar! SO a wedding cake is just silly for us....SO if he can take a tiny piece of cake that would be ok AND if I got a cupcake I wouldn't gag b/c it has no fillings!!! LOL

My Mom surprisingly liked the idea!!!

Anyone have great pics that they could share?

I have actually seen ALOT of people do it. I think it looks nice and Ive seen some real great ones...I thought i had pics of it but i dont...Go on the knot they have ALOT

I'm planning on both--I've always wanted my mom to make me a wedding cheesecake like she did for my sister's wedding. It was gorgeous, three tiers decorated with fresh roses. But, we get a cake with our venue, so I'm going to ask them to make it into cupcakes! That way, if the kids--or my dad, the big kid--want some cake before the official 'cake cutting,' they can have some. And my fiance doesn't like cheesecake. However, I'm secretly planning a Giants groomscake for him. My family think it's a tacky idea, but I don't care, I know it will make him ridiculously happy, and that's all I care about.

i think its sooooo cute! its becoming a big thing. my friend went to a wedding recently and they did the cupcakes instead of cake....she said it was hard to eat it, bc everyone is dressed up and they dont want icing anywhere, but i guess you could eat it w/a fork just like you would cake!

I had both a cupcake tower and a traditional cake - the tower had 75 cupcakes, I had 90 people at the wedding but almost ALL the cupcakes were gone.

I really want to do that but the FH is not so easy to convince! He wants to ddo the traditional cut the cake and feed eachother thing (I am not all about to tradition) but with the little cake on top I think I can convince! I bet it is really expensive though!
