DIY Sand Dollar placecards - w/ Pic
I started to do some more DIY stuff this weekend. Here's my first attempt at sand dollar placecards. I had originally wanted to write directly on them, but I couldn't find a pen that would write on them nicely. If anyone knows of something, please let me know!
There's also a few more pics of my DIY CD favors in my album. They're not quite done yet though.

it looks nice the way you did it...but here's another idea...clear address labels? Print them & just stick them on...not sure if they will hold but just a thought :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought of trying that, but the surface is so grainy that it won't stick to it right. I think that's why I was having a problem writing on them too.

Did you try a paint pen from Michael's?? I was originally doing the same thing but decided to make the sand dollar an ornament......and then put the tent place card in front of each ornament as a placecard.......but when i was going to write on them the paint pen works just make sure you get a thin one! Goodluck!

I think they look awesome the way they are, I wouldn't even try to write on them with anything. It looks elegant the way you did them. Great idea!

I actually really like the way it came out-- I think it's a little different than the norm and came out really elegant too!! I love it... I would stick with this method and I love the blue in there also.

Maybe it depends on how you lay them out on the table, I don't think you necessarily have to write them...I stole this from a review in 04' and I think if you prop up the cards a little when laying on the table, I think that works great and is SO adorable PLUS when you write on them, there is not turning back,if you want to move someone, it's not as simple to change it.....Here's the pic:

I love them-my cousin did them for hers and they were great!!! I like the tags on them-the only thing that you might be able to use to write on them neatly would be puff paint-you know the stuff you draw on t-shirts and clothes with!
