Re: Father/Daughter Dance

How about 'You are the Sunshine of My Life' by Stevie Wonder. My SIL danced w/ her father to that. It was really nice. I'm considering it for me and my dad.

Re: Father/Daughter Dance

I like through the years. Its your dance with your father I think it should mean something. Who cares if you cry, I'm sure you will probably cry to any song you dance with him to.

Simply the best is by Tina Turner

I went with Isn't She Lovely-Stevie Wonder only because I didn't want him bawling. He did anyway..

Tina Turner?

yeah it's definitely tina that sings simply the best. that's a tuff one tho b/c it's a faster song....

i love through the years but i totally understand about the crying!!! hmmm... well, i'm doing my girl by the temptations with my dad (not too fast but not slow enough to the point where i'll be bawling)... HTH, sorry i don't know more songs

edited: the more i look at everyone else's song choices, the more i'm going over the words to them in my head, lol i think i'm going to be crying no matter what LOL if i'm crying thinking about stevie wonder than i'm going to be crying no matter what!!! lol oh god

Re: Father/Daughter Dance

This is a hard one. There are so many songs and you need to find the one that fits you best. AOL radio has a section of Father/Daughter dance songs. They play songs and it tells you who sings the song and the name. This has helped me a bunch! If you want the info just FM me.

Re: Father/Daughter Dance

My father cried when I told him the song that I wanted to use. He's going to be bawling that day! We're dancing to Sailing by Christopher Cross. It's not a typical father/daughter song, but it's so pretty and my father is a huge fan of sailing. He's out on the water almost every day in the summer time.

Does your father have some sort of hobby that you could find a song about?

I wanted to dance to Ballerina Girl by Lionel Richie but i think we might dance to Rod Stewarts' Have I told you lately that I love you Song?

Through the years is the song that I am going to use for the anniversary dance when the MC will say the amount of years a couple has been married and where the last standing couple who has been married the longest will get recognized by all the guests.....

I know Tina Turner sings that song ( You're simply the best) but I am not sure if she is the original singer.
