Flowers by Brian vs. Pedestals?

Please tell me why you did or not choose them....I want the good the bad and the ugly please.

we booked flowers by brian because we felt they were a little more personable, and their price was better.

They really took the time to hear out my ideas and give me some options.

we booked pedestals. we didn't have a good experience when we went to flowers by brian. they do beautiful work but the guy we met with was a little creepy and that just turned us off. We looooved Virgil from Pedestals so we went with him.

i met with them both recently (havent booked yet though)...the pricing I got from Pedestals was more reasonable then FBB (not but much though)...and I thought Virgil at Pedestals was much more helpful. They pull flowers from arrangements and the back to give you color ideas; where FBB only showed pictures.

We booked FBB on the spot. They had beautiful samples there and we actually picked our CP's from one of the samples we saw since we really didn't know what we wanted to do. Everyone there is really nice and soooo helpful. Their price was great too.

I visited Flowers by Brian but not Pedestals (only dealt w/ them by phone). I saw samples on the day I went to FBB. Their Mineola location has them out every Saturday.

Pedestals - to be honest, I have my doubts. Did not have a good experience w/ them over the phone, and also heard negative things from a co worker who her sister booked for their wedding.

I went with Pedestals. I actually asked one of the RH's that i went to who they thought was the best and they said Pedestals. i also got a good price from them

i agree! she actually went in the back and pulled a bunch of flowers together and made mock bouquets for me on the spot when i first met with them! she was so wonderful to work with

We went to Pedestals and worked with Nadia - she understood my vision and every little detail that I am looking for - she was great! Can't wait till we see the sample pieces

ITA!!!! We met with Pedestals also but felt more comfortable with FBB and they were more personal.

we went with Flower by brian - when I walked in I saw a CP that was a tree and I loved it! They were so personable and Joseph was so fun and excited about my vision.

Pedestals never called me back and I called them several times.

I think its more to do with which actual designer that you like then the place. They are both reputable places but if you get a designer you dont like you are going to be put off by them.

I went to B u r t o n s today & now I have no clue which to choose.

Option 1: Pros: The showroom was the most impressive. Although it was not my colors, there was a CP I loved and was impressed with their work. Cons: There has been some negative FB on the site about it and it is the most expensive.

Option 2: Pros: They were very nice. I was taken into the back to look at the flowers and we already began to play with some colors just to get some ideas. People seem to like them on the site. Cons: Pretty but not as nice as Option 1.

Option 3: Pros: It is by far the cheapest...over $1000 less than the others for the same plans. Cons: The flowers were okay, but I worry you get what you pay for. Some people love them and some negative feedback.

How is a girl to decide? All other decisions for the wedding I had gut feelings...but this one I am not leaning in any particular direction

I am sorta in the same boat - my decision making process is this:

1- Price and Value for what you pay for

2- Overall reputation

3- Feedback from actual past brides on what they paid for and what was ACTUALLY provided on the wedding day.

For the above reasons, I would cross out B---tons because their feedback is extremely inconsistent across the board.

I would feel more comfortable booking a major vendor that may be slightly more $$ but has a 90% Positive Feedback rating, than a cheaper vendor who only has maybe a 65% Positive Feedback rating.

(by feed back, I mean actually taking the time to look at the LIW Bride Reviews going back to 2005 and narrowing down each Bride's Vendors and putting their grades in a chart to see which vendor had mostly Positives or Negatives, and why.

the garden city hotel recommends those two florists so those were the only two we met with. loved both, but they were very different. we went with pedestals bc i just really clicked with robert, the owner, and he was also able to fill my white roses bouquet with swarovski crystals whereas FBB could not. but joseph at FBB did suggest some things that pedestals did not, so i had them add those on at pedestals... but it goes to show you both are talented. honestly though i don't think you could go wrong with either. meet with both and see which you have a better chemistry with.

ask for joseph at FBB and robret at pedestals.

ETA: pedestals did a wedding at oheka on Platinum Weddings so at least you can see their capability.

Im using pedestals, I love their work. Every wedding I have gone too used pedestals.

they did one of the Jonas brother's wedding in dec at oheka castle. I saw the center piece sample it was AMAZING. thats when I booked them.

Same here! I actually negotiated Pedestals down to the same price but I just felt much more comfortable with Flowers by Brian. Also, loved the fact that Flowers by Brian made me a sample BEFORE I put down my deposit.

I actually booked with Joseph at FBB in the Mineola location and I was soooooooooooo much more comfortable with them. Rob at Pedestals was much more impersonal. Joseph put together flowers for me to see mock bouquets AND a mock centerpiece. At Pedestals, Rob went in the back and brought four roses out to show me. Not really the same treatment. I liked Rob, but definitely felt more comfortable with Joseph.

Pedestals came in about $200 cheaper than FBB, but I got Joseph down the $200 to meet Pedestals's price.
