Groom/Sister dance (no mom)

Hey girls,

So my FH mother passed away and he is going to dance with his sister at the reception. I'm meeting with my DJ in a few weeks... any suggestions on songs for them to dance to? We're letting his sister choose... but wanted to see if anyone had some good suggestions!

Re: Groom/Sister dance (no mom)

I am planning on dancing with my brother to Stand By Me. I'll be a flipping mess during our dance, but I think its fitting for siblings that are close.

Re: Groom/Sister dance (no mom)

I didn't know anyone danced with their sibling. My mom suggested this and I thought it would draw attention to the lack of FOB in the room (I have 2 bros so she wanted me to dance with one then have the other one cut in).
Now you guys have me thinking about this. I don't know what to do. FH will dance with his mother. he offered for me to dance with his father but I thought that might be strange. IDK. I'm lost. I figured I'd just skip it and no one would know the difference. IDK what to do about this.

I really like the THROUGH THE yEARS SONG and the STAND BY ME songs!

So did I!

FH's mom passed away too he has no sisters so he is dancing with one of his Aunts. We can not find an appropriate song either.

Re: Groom/Sister dance (no mom)

My husband was in the same situation. He danced to Monica's 'For You I Will' since it was with his younger sister and to him the words sounded like him protecting and looking out for her.
