Re: if your having a Venetian hour

I did a viennese hour, and we didnt announce it before. ALthough some friends and family already knew there would be one. Your guests will see that the party is still going on, and most rh's bring the tables to the middle of the room and for most weddings ive been to guests are there for it.

My dj announced it bc i decided to do the viennese in another room. None of my guests had left at that point

dont worry about the invites bc ive never seen viennese hour written on an invite before, you dont have to write it. If anyone leaves you'll have maybe a handfull of people who leave early, and most HAVE to leave regardless so it will be fine

Re: if your having a Venetian hour

Thanks I appreciate it, but i was worried about people leaving early like I wanted to let them know before the day so if they take a limo or have a baby sittter they know its not over at 12:00 like it would normally be.

lol I just noticed that I wrote venetian hour not veinese (spelling) thanks to the responces IM rolling at my dumb A55 .......Thanks girls

I was also thinking mybe I could put it in the info in the OOT boxes at least for my oot guests to know!!!

wait so you didnt include the time of viennese on your invites? see my wedding was over at 1:30am and that was after viennese hour so i just put end time of 1:30am on my invites. Are you saying you put 12:00am on your invites but its ending later bc of VH? If youre saying like it normally would be bc you think guests assume it ends at midnight then i wouldnt worry about that bc i never assume what time a wedding ends. Not all end at midnight. Just asking bc not sure what you meant, and not sure if for example your wedding ends at 1am, but the invite says midnight. If you took into consideration the time of VH and when the wedding REALLY ends and put that on the invite then i wouldnt worry.

Sorry for the mix up No I didnt put an ending time at all on my invite, I just assume people would think a norm wedding would end at midnight if cocktail hour started at 7 pm.

My g-friends wedding didnt even have the VH but 80% of her guests left so early so I did not want that! I sorta just want them to have a heads up. I guess I could just spread it word of mouth and get it out that way!!

well not sure if you want to do this but you can always send a small notecare saying what the end time is and saying it will end after viennese hour.

Or just spread it word of mouth

Re: if your having a Venetian hour

I just put 'dessert buffet & wedding cake' on the menu. It didn't happen outside the normal wedding timeframe, just after we cut the cake. CH started at 6, viennese was at, I dunno, 10:30 or something.

Re: if your having a Venetian hour

total word of mouth. i had a late wedding so i made sure to tell people to stay till dessert. DJ also announced this and I served my cake with my viennesse hour, instead of serving it at tables.

hmmm because i was thinking about making them - but then i have to wait until we finalize the menu and i feel like that is cutting it close to the wedding (im not going to want to be making menus that close to the wedding ) and what if they upgrade something the night of the wedding as a surprise? i know thats happened before so i dont want the menu to not be accurate....
