misspelling on wedding invitations
Just wondering if anyone has received a wedding invitation with a misspelling on it. I received one last week where the name of the church was spelled wrong. Yes, I am neurotic and I am a teacher and when things get misspelled it drives me crazy. Do you say anything to the bride or groom, or just let it go? I don't know if they realize the church was spelled wrong.

Re: misspelling on wedding invitations
Yes, I recently received one. And no, I didn't say anything. There was actually a grammatical mistake AND a typo and I'm just like you, it bugged me. But I didn't see the point in telling the bride and groom, it will just make them feel bad. Resist the urge!!

Re: misspelling on wedding invitations
I would def. let it go. As annoying as it is for you, I'm sure they'd feel awful if they knew it was spelled wrong. Although, there's a chance that someone might have told them already.

Oooh... you need like 3 sets of eyes in addition to the printer...I would let it go. I'm sure if they haven't caught it, they will. OR.... afamily member is bound to bring it up.

Re: misspelling on wedding invitations
A friend of mine had the spelling of the street address to the church slightly wrong! She found out with not enough time to have them corrected so she left it. The directions she enclosed had the correct spelling so she was praying noone really noticed.maybe the bride/groom are in a similar situation so if you did say something they'd laugh it off, but unless it's a mistake that would put you in the wrong location or wrong time/date, then I wouldn't bother them with it.
They have enough stress going on!

Re: misspelling on wedding invitations
i received an invitation for a wedding next month--and there were so many things wrong with it--i don't know where to begin.i didn't say anything cause the bride mentioned on her blog and facebook that she knows the invites were a little 'messed up' but she didn't care.
the worst part of the invite is definitely the RSVP -- read it and see how confusing it is.

Yikes. That is really confusing.
At least shopping for the couple will be easy; you can get them giftcards to the Sylvan Learning Center.

I would not tell them.My FMIL is a former teacher, and thinks it is ok to correct everybody's grammar at all times. Not cool, and everybody talks behind her back because of it.
So I vote: No.

Re: misspelling on wedding invitations
things like this just make me note to have more then one person check the invites. i have not yet received any invitations with grammar or spelling errors but if i do in the future i will not say anything about it. as we all know brides are very stressed & that's just adding more unnecessary stress.
