places to take pictures near woodbury?

I was thinking about a suggestion that someone made about Gantry Park in LIC. It's beautiful, but if I can stay closer to the chapel I think that would be best. This way we wont have to worry about traffic on the LIE. I have searched some posts on here , but some of the places suggested are the botanical gardens, and as much as I would love to do that, I don't think they are open at this time, especially on the weekends.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Possibly some pics? Thank you so much.

I was looking at that, but do I have to be a member or is it free to go in? Also, do you have some pics from when you were there?

You have to pay for a permit which was $120 for 1.5 hours. It is well worth the price bc there are so many beautiful areas to take pics!

I called Planting Fields and they sent me a specific application for the photo permit. I'd call them up at (516) 922-9200

Re: places to take pictures near woodbury?

Oheka Castle lets you use their site for a fee of $500 if they don't have a wedding going on at that time.

DeServetsky Center also has a fee I believe of 750.00 and that's really pricey IMO but it is gorgeous and that at NYIT.

Planting Fields Arboretum is in Oyster Bay

Westbury Gardens is perfect for pictures as well and depending on the look you would like I wouls also look into Morgan Park in Glen Cove. I took my engagement photos there and it was great for a more casual setting.

If you want to go into suffolk- about 30 min away from Woodbury there is the Vanderbilt Mansion in Centerport, and some other one I can't remember the name of in Huntington.

Hmmm...one more: Sands Point Preserve in Sands Point.

I hope I helped!

Re: places to take pictures near woodbury?

We took our pictures at the Garden City Gazebo - it was beautifully decorated and best of all free - you do not need a permit or need to reserve it at all. We were the only bridal party there on our wedding day. And it was close to Fox Hollow where our reception was.
