Veil longer than train

I was looking at a catherdral veil at Pronovias that I really loved, but it seems to be three feet longer than my chapel length train. It is longer than a typical cathedral length veil. It has a lot of beadwork and is beautiful but the blusher and veil are made out of one piece of fabric so it cant be cut from top, or on bottom (beadwork).

I think it looks best just a little longer than my train but I do see photos and TV shows where the bride's veil is a lot longer than the train.

Thoughts?

Re: Veil longer than train

I think I bought the veil you're talking about. It is AMAZING.

If the dress doesn't have lots of detail at the base, you can definitely go for it. My best friend had a royal veil (longer than cathedral), her photos at the altar were amazing. She purchased a shorter veil for her reception. Do you have any photos?

Re: Veil longer than train

I don't have my pics on me, but what does your train look like? Is it also cathedral length with an almost 'cross like' shaped beading all over? I think it was scalloped edge but I don't recall now.

Re: Veil longer than train

I looked through one of your albums, and I think you might actually have the same veil. I think I could see those 'T' or the longish shaped crystal accent designs all over (terrible description I know!).

Beautiful dress too by the way! I bought the Rialto dress, and love mine! Is your veil longer than your dress train too? How do you think it looks?

Thanks!

Re: Veil longer than train

Really? They suggested 3 feet longer? Does it 'pull' up a little when you walked down the aisle or did it stay much longer than your dress?

Anyone else also have a veil longer than your train...reasons? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same veil...yes, it has the 'crossish' shapes and is SUPER sparkly. I wish I had more pictures but I'm at work- darn it!

I LOVED the Rialto dress....congratulations! I tried it on and it was close- can't wait to see it on you!

The super long veil is super glamourous. Very royal, actually....back in the day you would have paige boys carrying the veil in the back. I have 3 flowergirls and my eldest really wants to carry the back of my veil. I trust her to do a great job.

Since I purchased the veil, I think it looks amazing (obviously ) but I will say that I think it takes LOTS of presence and confidence to pull it off. When my friend wore hers a few years ago, she was absolutely fierce, the poise of a Queen. She 'owned' the veil. It's super distinctive.

My veil is at least 5-6 feet longer than my train...I have a semi cathedral train (couple of feet longer than chapel.)

Isn't your train longer than mine? I remember it being longer- you should totally go for it!

no it stayed longer, they place it straight right before you walk down the aisle so its fine

here is a pic of when i was walking down the aisle

and thats just how cathedral veils are, they are longer than the train of your dress and how it goes. YOu can always get an elbow length veil if you dont want a cathedral veil but its meant to be 3 feet longer

Re: Veil longer than train

My dress didn't have much of a train, and I wore a cathedral length veil (which was actually made for the dress). I didn't think it was strange at all.

Re: Veil longer than train

I'm going to check my paperwork at home. I'm almost certain that the veil you're talking about is a Royal Cathedral Veil...not a Cathedral Veil....it is longer than 120 inches.

It will definitely extend at least 4-5 feet past your dress. I wish I had a better picture but you can see how far behind my my cousin is standing...and the veil was not fully extended.

Re: Veil longer than train

Thanks everyone! I'll call back my consultant and ask for the exact length...I know from the halfway in the back of my head to the end of my train is 93 inches. I thought veils were sup to be in line with the train and just didnt want it to look silly.
