Have anyone ordered their wedding cake from Collette Foley? Can you let me know their price range for a three tier cake?

Re: Wedding Cake - Collette Foley

well, that's THE wedding cake lady..... will be pricey...

I expect it would cost 1k for a 100 person cake... after all, the cake would be worthy of a spot on food TV. the price would be highly dependent upon the complexity of the design, though...

Also have to add in delivery fees from NYC....

We're using Collette Foley. The prices range tremendously depending on the design you want and how many people it will serve. I'd suggest emailing her...
[[email protected]], but keep in mind she does a limited number of cakes per year.

Re: Wedding Cake - Collette Foley

I am confused, because someone also mentioned her being on the food network, and if its the person who won the wedding cake competition then that is colette peters, she has also been on oprah and has done alot of celebrity wedding cakes, does cakes for Tiffany windows displays, and does cakes for big celebrity events.

That is who i want to get my cake from, colette peters...Her price is $8-12 a slice, depending on how difficult the design of the cake is.

I will tell you one thing though, for my e-party i was going to get a fondant cake but changed my mind don't want it to be too much like the wedding, plus for the wedding cake i am willing to spend alot of money but not for the e-party. I seriously called just about every place in manhattan, long island, some places in brooklyn. I called over 50 bakeries to find out their price. The average price is $6-7 a slice. It is very hard to find a fondant cake for under $6 a slice, but i did find like 2 or 3 bakeries in suffolk county that did it for $4.25 a slice and another for $5 a slice.

what you can do to save money though is this: you get a fondant cake, you can make just one of the layers real cake, the one you will cut at the wedding...The rest will be a model meaning it is all done up the same but there is no real cake inside...The rest of the cake you get from them will be sheet cake they keep in the back and just serve it to your guests. This will save alot of money. Some bakers can also use buttercream to make some of those designs but you need a good one, they do come out good but personally i dont think as smooth as fondant.

If you want any other info on any of this you can fm me anytime.

Yeah colette peters is the one who won the wedding cake competition on the food network...Sylvia is a big wedding cake designer, and has done cakes for many celebrities. There is a collette foley who does cakes but i personally have never seen her on the food network so not sure, its possible she was on it too.

Here is collette peters site and she even has the cake on there that she won with at the wedding cake competition on food network.

Re: Wedding Cake - Collette Foley

just a note from a past bride (and I was at over 7 weddings this year including my brother and sisters).... hardly anyone looks at the cake... I spent months agonizing over my cake and what it was going to look like... I couldn't even find it until 20 minutes into the reception, it was displayed towards the front... when i got my pictures and was showing them to my friends who were at the wedding, they all were like oh that was your cake, we didn't even see it.... and hardly anyone pays attention to the cake cutting. The one that was posted with the hydrageas from the expensive lady looks identical to the one my sister had made at the Crescent Beach Club, it was gorgeous.

Yes i know some people don't care about the cake that is why i suggest people just get it from their RH if its not a big deal to them...For me personally it is...I do notice though that when people get cakes that look different than most and not your typical wedding cake design then everybody does notice...I went to a wedding recently and they had a beautiful fondant cake, and we were all by the cake looking at it, and everyone kept standing around talking about it. I LOOOVE the cake Pink and Carey hart had at her wedding, now that is a cake that will get alot of peoples attention.

the cake is important to us.... but then again, the RH asked us to participate in the room layout for the reception, so we selected a prominent spot for the cake. I assumed all halls did this
