Paula Varsalona Dresses
Anyone know where I can try them on besides the boutique on Madison? I specifically want to try this one on (it's style 6980):

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
I love Paula Varsalona- her dresses and her staff! I got my dress at their salon here in the city- actually at one of their sample sales! I just looked on their website and according to that, The Bridal Couture of Manhasset carries her dresses too- although I have heard HORRIBLE stories about that salon! Why don't want to go to their salon? I highly recommend going! The manager there, Jude, is absolutely wonderful! I just went 2 weeks ago for a try-on and I am even more excited! I think I actually saw this dress hanging up there. The only other gown manufacturer that I found that has similar gowns is Priscilla of Boston- very similar cuts & styles. But I would still recommend making an appointment at their salon here in the city!

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
Thanks! Maybe I will head there or Bridal Salon in Manhasset. I really just want to try on the dress, I don't intend on buying it there. houseofbrides.com just started selling her dresses and I got a great quote on this dress so I wanted to try it on somewhere and if I love it, I'll order it from houseofbrides.

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
Wow- I had no idea that they sell her dresses at Macy's- good to know!I also saw that www.bridepower sells her dresses too at a significant discount. They are actually a real store outside of Boston where my friend got her dress so I know they are reputable. I definitely recommend tryong on the dress before ordering it just to make sure the size is right. But I do have to say that I found that her dresses run pretty true to size.
Good luck!

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
I just wanted to add that they have jrl0223's dress at the Macy's in SmithHaven mall also - it's beautiful! :)I didn't see the other one there though (this was a few months ago) but I know that they only carry a few of her dresses...
Not sure how the one in Manhasset is though...
OH and Paradise Bridal in Patchogue also had a few as well.
Good luck! :)

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
Sorry my pic wasn't so great, it's much prettier in person...if I do say so myself
I'm not sure how big the PV selection is at Macy's. But I can say that I was very pleased with the price. It was about $2400 which in my opinion and based on what I was expecting, was preety good.

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
Thank you so much, it makes me so happy to hear the compliments on the dress. I hadn't really heard much about Paula Varsalona in general, and I never see her ads in magazines, so it's nice to finally be able to talk about it.

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
Oh- don't get me started! I am a big fan of her's! I found about her about 2 years ago- I was in a wedding where the bride had her dress made by Paula. Then, we had our bridesmaid dresses made there too- we all picked out a dress and they custom made it for us in black chiffon. So, when I was looking for a dress and saw that they were having a sample sale here, I decided to go since it is a few blocks away from my office. They totally remembered me and were so wonderful to me during the sale! I did not expect to find anything but I did! I got a $5K dress for $1,500! It's amazing and I can't wait to wear it! They are really great to work with and their dresses are so well made! They really take pride in their work and their dresses show that! OK- I am gushing now!

Re: Paula Varsalona Dresses
I got my Paula Varsalona throught VOWS which is the brick and morter store for bridepower.com -- if you look up my wedding review, 4/4/04, I discuss this process. Quick answer is I paid $1500 for a much more expensive and gorgeous dress. Simple, lace like Mindy L28 but with lace sleeves and a longer train.Welcome New Vendors
