Re: 1st birthday gift ideas

This might not be something you want to give but hub and I got a framed print that was a replica of the night sky that our godson was born. You can customize the saying on it and everything.

I feel like it's so hard to buy someone so young something that will last so we got it and it's hanging in his room now. he'll have it forever.

Re: 1st birthday gift ideas

This is based on me being a parent and what I would like to see my kids get.

-Clothes (Spring is right around the corner)
-$Check$ in my daughter's name to be deposited into her bank account.
-Sneakers
-essential stuff like socks, diapers in your case, baby wipes.
-books or leaning activities.

I'm sick of toys, so I'm hoping no toys come around this weekend for my daugther's bday.

Re: 1st birthday gift ideas

ummm toys lol.

just went to my BMs sons first bday...we spent about $70. Got him a bunch of car toys and learning toys. He loved them lol

ETA: I think it depends on the mom too. She HATES getting clothes for him since she's always out buying cute stuff.

Re: 1st birthday gift ideas

Here's something that I absolutely LOVE and my BFF actually got it for me for my 30th bday...

She got me a framed Disney stock!!! Being the Disney FREAK that I am I absolutely LOVED IT!

The stock isn't that expensive but it came in an awesome frame with an engraved plaque. It's something that they can keep for years!

Re: 1st birthday gift ideas

So being a mommy, maybe I can chime in....

As much as I would love to say NO toys, bear in mind it is a childs gift and what do they love more than toys? With that being said, I would suggest a educational toy that will help with coordination, concentration or something like that. Jonathan got a lot of Sesame Street toys for his first birthday.

My son had TONS of toys, but it's the toys that make them happy. I would say get a small toy for them or a book and then get a cute outfit or something. Kids that age grow out of stuff so fast!!!
