A little sad

I'm awake right now. DH left earlier at 5am to head out to Ohio because he starts Monday. I am leaving Tuesday with my SIL and the cats to head out. DH and BIL are coming back the following weekend to retrieve all our stuff. The reason I stayed is because my baby shower is tomorrow.

I guess without realizing it, it hit me. I am really happy that we are moving, especially to the place we wanted to move to and everything is working in our favor so far ::knocks on wood::. But, last night, I looked around our apartment and everything is in boxes, and I just broke down crying. :(

I wish I just had more time to let it sink. We found out a week and a half ago and BOOM, we're out of here, and the baby is going to be here in a MONTH - exactly one month is my due date (could go early, could go late...you never know). But it's like, WOW. What's next? And I feel like there are people I wanted to see before I leave and never got the chance to. I know I'll be back to visit by Christmas and again in February for my Godson's Christening, but it still feels like an eternity.

I also feel a bit shocked because this is actually happening, after about 2 years of trying to get out of here. Even before I met DH, I knew I wanted to migrate out NY - all for monetary reasons. I mean unless you make a fortune, it's really hard to raise a family here, and I would definitely have to go back to work full time, when I would rather be a stay at home mom for a little while.

Gaaah, sorry. Hormones make me all sentimental. I'll be more than relieved when I don't have all that running through my system.

Re: A little sad

What your feeling is completely normal, I felt the same way after moving into our new place with DH. It takes time to adjust and get used to everything, but eventually you'll realize that it was the right decision. Just remember what's at the end of that road- a beautiful little boy and an amazing life you and your DH are going to give him in your new home/state
