Any suggestions for....

Homemade Christmas Gifts?

We are so broke this year! And we always do Christmas at FH's house where they love to go crazy over the top on gifts and we just can't reciprocate. We thought we would decide on one nice gift in budget and then I was thinking maybe I could make a few things just to throw in there as an extra gift. We will be there a few days early so I don't think cookies or pastries would work. I might consider chocolate gifts though.

But any non-food related homemade gift ideas??

Re: Any suggestions for....

Make personalized ornaments - buy balls (teehee!!!) and cut out pics from magazines that apply to each person...arrange them on the...balls...and use Mod Podge to seal it all up.

Coupons for babysitting from you and DH, if that applies to anyone in the family.

These will also last: get pretzel rods, dip half of each one into melted milk/dark.white chocolate, then while the chocolate is still melty, dip it in sprinkles/crushed nuts/chocolate chips. Tie a bunch up in a cellophane bag, put a cute ribbon on it.

Re: Any suggestions for....

bake or make candy, people always love that. homemade christmas cookies in a pretty tin is always a great gift and people always find it very thoughtful, you can pick up cute tins at the christmas tree shoppe or even the dollar stores.

not sure if these would work or not since they do involve buying things but i'm gonna share anyhow

a hot chocolate basket (put a mug, hot chocolate mix, and some marshmallows)

or a movie package (you can buy a dvd, put some popcorn and movie candy inside)
