belly button rings

I got my belly pierced when I was 18 working as a lifeguard over the summer. A bunch of girls that I worked with went together and we all got it done (we wore 2 piece lifeguard suits...it was a yacht club - not the ocean haha)

Anyways, flash forward 12 years and I still have mine pierced. I have a very small pink gold butterfly piece in there. I was just trying on bathing suits and it caught my eye for the first time in years.......

Is this cheesy?! I won't be offended either way...just wanna know what others think....

I don't even know if I'd be able t get it out if I tried....

Re: belly button rings

I was contemplating taking mine out a couple weeks ago. I don't even know that it's there. I used to buy such cute little belly button rings...but since I really don't show off my tummy anymore - I haven't bought one or even changed the one that's in there in years!!!

Re: belly button rings

I swear, I think this all the time. Belly button rings are so 1990s, but I love mine. We've been together for 10 years now!

I've just kept it in. I haven't changed it in a loooooooong time, but I'm still keeping it. Until I get really fat, I think I'll keep it.

Re: belly button rings

I got mine pierced 10 years ago (when I was 15 years old ).... I take it off sometimes for weeks and then wear it again, I took it off for the HM and put it back when I got back. I like it at times. Maybe when I get pregnant I'll remove it and never wear it again.

You look like you have a great body and it should look cute on you.

Do you still have a scar? I have an indentation where the ball sits (shut up pervs) and I always am afraid you'll still see it after I take it out.

Re: belly button rings

OK, i was kind of a freak and did the 4 piercings around my belly button. i took 3 of them out 4 years ago and kept the one on the top. i have little scars, and i'm glad I did it and gave them time to close other wise being pregnant, i'd be in trouble.

i still have my top bar in, but i switched to a pregnancy bar, i was afraid the hole would stretch and be worse.

and i forget it's there 90% of the time.

Re: belly button rings

I loved my belly button ring! I took it out when I started dating DH because he hated it (he would cringe when he hugged me, and I really didn't feel like dealing with him cringing, haha).

Just something for you ladies to look forward to (or not): I have a giant scar above my belly button now from when I was pregnant and it stretched out. It's not a stretch mark, it's from the piercing. It's all sorts of weird looking now .

Re: belly button rings

I had mine pierced twice, the first time I had to remove it for surgery and the second time it got infected. I had it in for all of a year and I'm left with a miserable scar.

As for how I feel about them now---not a huge fan. I think I would have taken mine out my now if it was still there.

Re: belly button rings

I got mine for my 18th birthday...or was it 17th?

anyhow, it's been more than a decade and I have a small rhinestone one. I took it out a couple of years ago when I turned 25 but FH actually asked about it and I put it back in.

I plan to take it out when i get preggers (probably before I'm 30) and won't put it back in.

I don't think it's cheesy unless it's paired with daisy dukes
