curious as to what u guys think..

I was browsing the preggo boards on lif and someone asked a question if when u have a child will u put one of those storks out on ur lawn..

So some people said yes some said they r not for them..but then lost of girls were saying if u put one out its'like asking someone to come steal your baby'..and how dangerous it is cause pervs know u just had a baby...I never thought of it like that..I think they r cute..what do u guys think

i never thought of that either.... i dont know if i would do it... obviously if i have a baby that young... either im home with them or they are out with me... i dont think there is a 'baby stealing' chance... Jessie might rip their throat out either way

I never thought anything of it until that other posters brought to my attention.

I still am going to do it when our baby is born. It's not like we have our doors open saying 'newborn for the taking!'

When my sister had her son, they warned her of this at the hospital.

Between the two dogs in our house, I don't think a baby stealing intruder would stand a chance! I'm getting one!

My sister put one out...she and her hubby are both doctors...nobody at their hospital warned them of that.

I never thought of that either. I don't know if I would put a sign up - I mean everyone I want to know about the baby would already know - but the signs are cute. To even fathom someone going by my house and thinking 'there's a new baby in there I'm gonna steal it' is crazy - but there are plenty of crazies out there nowadays.

Wow, I never thought of that! Interesting... I never gave much thought to whether I would put one out or not, honestly.

DH really wants to get them and I don't. I don't think I ever thought of the baby stealing thing, but who knows what some people are thinking (whether it's pervs or just general thieves who might want to break into your house for stuff in general, or anything). I dunno, I guess I just don't want to put an open invitation on our front lawn for anything that might happen.

I dont think id do it either. Its not my style. Not because im paranoid but because its just NOT me to do that.

never thought of it either. there is only so much you can do to avoid crazy people. if someone is driving around looking for babies, they can assume by your car, if there are toys around, etc. we had a sign but you couldn't really see it well from the road b/c of how our driveway was set up.

i understand wanting to be careful, but thinking 'now a pervert knows i had a baby' can be a little stressful.

never thought of baby thieves. i wonder if maybe I shouldn't walk into my house anymore bc then people thieves will know that people live there and come steal us!

sorry lol i'm in a ridiculous mood... seriously though i never thought of that! i'm gonna go with 'not my style' bc i just don't like that sort of attention (as was reinforced to me after having a wedding lol!)

Oxygen has a show Snapped... its awful, but I was doing something and Oxygen was on and it was on and they were showing a story about a woman who stole another woman's baby. I ended up watching it. She knew about the baby because of a Welcome Home sign.
