for those who want kids...

what is your current ttc timeline? becki's post got me thinking!

we talk about having kids fairly often but we don't have a set game plan in place....a lot depends on work/buying a house/money...

I totally agree that there will never be a perfect time to start or to have a baby but there are a few things we'd like to get in order before we really try.

Definitely not within the next two years. I want to just enjoy being married and selfish for a while- do some traveling, buy a house at our leisure, etc.

Ya - I love this mindset! Personally, I think it is important to be married and be selfish / focused on each other for a bit!

we'll never buy a house here. i dont even want to.

we don't travel that much and i'd take a kid anywhere i want to go anyways.

its really just the money thing. trying to pay off debts and save...

in all honesty -- we're not in as bad of shape as i let myself think we are.

i have no student loans.

we are close to having zero CC debt.

i'm just being a putz.

you leave the kid home with family.
or you go to a beaches resort where the kid is occupied with fun kid stuff all day long.

to sort of answer the original question - we just wanted to be in a house first. that was the main thing.

we also wanted to get rid of all our debt but... that didn't work out so well lol.

we want to travel and get situated in our careers first. possibly a house or apt.

We are going start once we are settled into our apartment so with the next month or so. We aren't being careful so I guess we are already trying.

just wanted to add that --- you are never ready for children and if you wait for a house or your bills to disappear you'll be waiting forever and we dont really travel much or plan to travel anytime soon so there really is nothing holding us back

April/May of next year...
Like I said the other day, I want to start now, DH is in NO rush for ANYTHING...
We're thinking of starting in April/May but really we'll just stop being careful then and buy a house at the end of next year (HOPEFULLY). If we're not preggers by the time we're in the house then we'll start really trying after we move in and settle.
