i like this idea from one of V's links
7. For the movie buff family, consider putting together a movie basket; include popcorn, a box or two of candy, and a Redbox movie code or two (there are often free movie codes going around). Or, if you are technologically savvy, include a video of the family from years past.
i would maybe put a little card in there and make it look like a coupon saying for one night he gets to choose any guy action movie of his choice and you promise to watch with him
i LOVE this idea. my DH is in the film industry and can literally watch 3 movies every night before bed. i have no patience to sit down for so long!! i think i'm going to steal this idea. put some popcorn, raisinets and a coupon for a night devoted to movies with him. THANKS!

Re: gifts
honestly, dont do it. set a small budget - $10, but dont not give gifts.we did this one year - when we were engaged and saving $ for the wedding....and it was awful. there i was wrapping gifts for people that i barely liked, and the one person that i wanted to get something for i couldnt. i told DH right then that that could never happen again. lol
set a budget, but its nice to give something to the one you love

Re: gifts
Nope, I told DH to not get me a thing this year because I'm not working at the moment and he's already doing an amazing job working so hard to support us. I did go out and buy him little things, like socks, a sweater jacket thing, cologne and some of his favorite K cups, but that nothing in comparison to other Christmases spent together

Re: gifts
We're exchanging, but we're not doing big gifts. I got him a pair of dress shoes, he got me new sneakers, and we're doing stocking stuffers. That's it

Re: gifts
We spent a limit on how much to spend since we are leaving for our HM the day after Christmas....at first we said $100-150....but I went over...more like $200.
I'm sure he went over too...
