Has anyone ever taken a cooking class?
I have said to DH a couple of times that I would like to take a cooking class just to get some of the basics down. Does anyone know of any places that gives classes for a few weeks in a row?

Re: Has anyone ever taken a cooking class?
I took a cooking class as part of a work outing once - it was awesome, and I looked into doing it as part of a program, just always ended up being too expensive. They do have the kind of programs you're thinking about at ICE in Manhattan.

Yes, the institute of culinary education (ICE) has basics classes ... i've never done those but we did do a pizza making class which was awesome and worth every penny! ...

A la Carte in Lynbrook has them. They also have special event classes, like couples class, father daughter class, etc.

I've done a few here - it was alot of fun and not crazy pricing... they also have packages so you can buy say 5 classes for a discounted price.

DH took a class at Viking back in June and loved it. Unfortunately they told him they lost their lease and were going to be closing. I don't know if they are still there or are opening up somewhere else.
